Westin's Labor Day sale is finally here, and you can save 20% off the Heavenly Bed at Shop Marriott to recreate vacation-style luxury for less.

While the best mattresses you can buy online tend to target specific sleep needs (side sleeping, night sweats etc.), mattresses used in hotels need to be good all-rounders, comfortable for every guest that passes through the doors.

And when we went hands-on with the Westin Heavenly Bed, we found it nearly nailed that crowd-pleasing comfort, describing it as a "supportive, luxurious pillow-top mattress that should satisfy most Westin guests."

I've been waiting for the Westin sale to arrive (I'd nearly given up hope of a discount) and 20% off is the best deal I've seen in months. We're tracking all the savings in our Labor Day mattress sales live blog but for hotel luxury, this is the deal for me.

Westin Heavenly Bed Mattress: twin was $1,645 now $1,316 at Westin
Like an extended stay at the Westin, the Heavenly Bed isn't cheap, but with 20% off in the Labor Day mattress sales a queen is now only $1,996 (was $2,495.) The Westin Heavenly Bed keeps to the hotel mattress playbook, pairing a bouncy innerspring base with a plush pillow top. This means it should deliver ample support while still offering plenty of cushioning — a combo good for most sleep styles (we liked it best for back sleeping.) We were also impressed with its temperature regulation, maintaining a neutral feel even during a warm night. For true hotel comfort, we recommend sizing up and in the sale a king is reduced to $2,276 (from $2,845.) Westin does offer a 10-year warranty but no sleep trial so if you want to try before you buy, you'll need to book a Westin getaway. Long weekend away, anyone?

Price analysis: should you buy now or wait?

It's my job to track hotel mattress sales and it's been a year of ups and downs for the price of the Westin Heavenly Bed — but here's why I think now is the time to buy.

Pre-Labor Day 2024, hotel mattress sales were relatively few and far between. But that changed at the end of 2024, with the start of long running discounts from brands including Westin, Ritz-Carlton and Marriott.

Then the sales stopped and the hotel mattress landscape changed, with Marriott bringing all its hotel bed and sleep brands under one shop front: Marriott Bonvoy Boutiques. After a period discount-free, you can now save 20% on all mattresses in the Marriott brand.

These changes make it hard to predict sales moving forward, as it's likely we'll see sitewide discounts. So while I have spotted up to 30% off the Westin Heavenly Bed before, I've never seen that saving at Ritz-Carlton — and a sitewide sale would encompass them both.

But while this might not be the biggest price drop, 20% is still close to $500 off a queen size and an impressive discount on a high quality mattress. And with mattress tariffs threatening to increase the prices of luxury beds, I recommend buying now, rather than gambling on a Black Friday deal.

DreamCloud Premier Hybrid Mattress: $749 at DreamCloud

DreamCloud Premier Hybrid Mattress: twin $749 at DreamCloud
In our DreamCloud Premier Hybrid Mattress review we described this hybrid bed as dishing out "luxury comfort at a competitive mid-range price" and although we tested an older model, I suspect the newer design lives up to the performance of its predecessor. Like the Westin Heavenly Bed, we liked the Premier best for back sleeping but this mattress is comfortable in most sleep positions (although the bouncy feel might be disruptive for bed sharers.) In the year-round DreamCloud mattress sale a queen is only $999 and DreamCloud is throwing in a free bedding bundle worth $599 for Labor Day.
