If you're anything like me, Friday night arrives way too fast — and suddenly you're 20 (or 40) minutes deep into scrolling Netflix, Prime Video, Hulu and every other streaming app instead of actually watching something. We spend all week rounding up the best new shows and movies worth your time, but even then, decision paralysis is real.

So we're trying something different this week. Instead of another list, we're handing out personalized streaming recommendations — completely free, just in time for the weekend.

Looking for a pulse-pounding thriller? A comfort-watch that'll make you forget the Sunday scaries? A comedy that'll actually make you laugh? Drop your question in the Live Q&A box below, and we'll point you toward your next binge. We'll answer every question we receive between now and Friday, July 31, at 5 p.m. ET.

Latest Videos FromTom's Guide

Answering your questions is me, Kelly Woo, streaming managing editor with 20+ years of experience watching everything, with help from senior entertainment editor Rory Mellon, streaming editor Malcolm McMillan and senior streaming writer Alix Blackburn.

See a question you know the perfect answer to? Jump in. The best recommendations often come from fellow streamers, and we're all for crowdsourcing your next obsession.

Just keep the questions focused on what to watch, and drop them into the Live Q&A box above. We'll be here with recommendations through Friday, July 31, at 5 p.m. ET.

Not sure where to start? Take the quick Netflix quiz below for a personality-based recommendation. Then tell us: Did it nail your taste, or is the algorithm about to get roasted?

Kelly Woo

Kelly is the managing editor of streaming for Tom’s Guide, so basically, she watches TV for a living. She writes news, features and reviews about the streaming realm — hardware, software and content. In a given week, she might test a new Roku stick, check out an interface update on HBO Max, sound off on the trailer for a new Netflix show and provide info on how to watch a fan-favorite series.

about us
Rory Mellon

Rory is a Senior Entertainment Editor at Tom’s Guide based in the UK. He covers a wide range of topics but with a particular focus on gaming and streaming. When he’s not reviewing the latest games, searching for hidden gems on Netflix, or writing hot takes on new gaming hardware, TV shows and movies, he can be found attending music festivals and getting far too emotionally invested in his favorite football team.

Alix Blackburn Streaming Writer
Alix Blackburn

Alix is a Senior Streaming Writer at Tom’s Guide, which basically means watching the best movies and TV shows and then writing about them. It’s a dream job for someone who’s been obsessed with storytelling since she first figured out how to work a remote. She heads to the cinema every week as a tradition, no matter what’s showing. For her, movies aren’t just entertainment — they’re a ritual, a comfort, and a constant source of inspiration.

It goes without saying that we won't answer any questions with inappropriate or offensive language or photos. This Live Q&A is designed to be an open space for anyone looking for help, no matter how "silly" you think that question may be.

If you've never left a comment on our site before then you may need to sign up to post your first question.
