Some broadcasters are promoting this version of the "Robin Hood" tale as a "romantic adventure" which could suggest that messy deaths by crossbow and the medieval parable about the struggle between the downtrodden poor and the greed of Kings are taking a back seat...

It premeres in most places on Sunday, November 2 – and you can watch it from anywhere with a VPN.

'Robin Hood' - Release date, time and channel

"Robin Hood" premieres on Sunday, September 22 and the finale aired on November 24. It lands in the U.K. on Jan 14, 2025.

But that is not necessarily the case (and whoever said it was an either/or anyway?). The series claims to be trading on a "historical accuracy, modern relevance and intricate character dynamic" with depictions of medieval England, the Palace of Westminster and the Vatican. So expect politics.

Robin here is 'Rob' (played by Jack Patten), a Saxon forester's son, who takes on the Norman elite (and lets not forget who invaded who at this point) with the aid of Marian (Lauren McQueen), the daughter of a Norman nobleman, in search for justice and peace. So probably expect some kissing as well.
