While the season's early events have given the chance for Tobias Lund Andresen and Isaac del Toro to enjoy their first Tour victories, there's a sense of the big boys coming to play in Flanders. The field may not include the mighty Tadej Pogačar, but Mathieu van der Poel, Tom Pidcock and Jasper Philipsen will all start.

There hasn't been a repeat winner in the men's event since Greg Van Avermaet nine years ago, which will give hope to the above trio as none of them have won this before (although less good news for last year's surprise victor Søren Wærenskjold). Nobody will be expecting an easy ride around the 207.6km route, however, with chilly temperatures and a high chance of rain forecast.

Belgian hopes will rest on former winners Lotte Claes and Lotte Kopecky in the women's race, which has been toughened up this year with two extra climbs late on. Read on for details of how to watch Omloop Nieuwsblad 2026 online — including free streaming options.
