If you're hoping to slot in a Prime Video movie night at some point this week, and you're planning to rely on the Prime Video top 10 list for recommendations, you might strike gold, but there's every chance you might strike out.
As we always say, "trending" does not necessarily equal "actually worth your precious viewing time." You can't guarantee that what's in Prime Video's (or any of the best streaming services, for that matter) streaming charts will match your tastes or otherwise be worth streaming — and that's where I come in.
Each week, I take a look at what's currently in Prime Video's top 10 movies list and shine a light on just a handful of genuinely watchlist-worthy movies. That way, you can skip the scrolling and get straight to streaming the next time you're not sure what to watch on Amazon's streamer. You can find my three top picks (and a full rundown of what's in the Prime Video top 10 right now) below.
Note: This article is based on the Prime Video top 10 movies list on Monday, March 9, 2026.
Best movies in the Prime Video top 10
'Sinners' (2025)
Ryan Coogler's electrifying vampire horror/action thriller "Sinners" has continued to creep back into Prime Video's top 10 most-watched list ever since it first launched on the platform, so it's no surprise to see it back in the charts in the run-up to the 2026 Oscars this coming Sunday. The fact that it's there also means I've got another excuse to recommend one of the best and most talked-about movies of 2025, so yes, if you're looking for something to stream this week, it should be "Sinners" — it really is that good.
If you've somehow managed to avoid this critically-acclaimed watch, it revolves around twin brothers, Smoke and Stack (both played by Michael B. Jordan). Together, the pair head back to their hometown in an attempt to escape a troubled past... only to discover that there's an ancient, more powerful evil waiting to welcome them back to town.

'The Bluff' (2026)
It feels like we don't see a whole lot of pirate movies hit our screens, so given that — and the fact that "The Bluff" feels like a cut(lass) above some of the streamer's output — it more than earns a place in my recommendations. It's clearly pulling in viewers, too, as it has remained Prime Video's No. 1 watch practically ever since it hit the platform at the end of February.
This bloody adventure movie introduces us to Ercell (Priyanka Chopra Jonas), a former pirate who is forced to defend all that she holds dear when her past comes calling. She might have found peace settled in the Cayman Islands with her husband, son, and sister-in-law, but when her former captain, Connor (Karl Urban), shows up seeking revenge, her world is turned upside down, and she's thrust into a fight for survival that drags her back into that same deadly world she tried to leave behind.

'The Wrecking Crew' (2026)
Impressively, Prime Video's big January original is still one of the platform's top watches. This is "The Wrecking Crew," a new release that sees Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista brought together as estranged half-brothers Jonny (Momoa) and James (Bautista). The pair are reunited in the wake of their father's death, and as they try to uncover the truth, they stumble upon a conspiracy that threatens to tear their family apart.
In a nutshell, "The Wrecking Crew" is a throwback to classic buddy cop action movies, updated with some more modern action movie tropes, and makes for a fun watch. Here's what TG's Streaming Editor, Malcolm McMillan had to say in his 2.5-star "The Wrecking Crew" review: "It's formulaic, loaded with action movie tropes, but is too long and complicated for what it is, so it loses points for that. But it is a blast to watch thanks to Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista's chemistry, and even features some surprisingly gory kills."

If it’s in the theaters or available to stream somewhere, he’s probably watched it… especially if it has a dragon in it. Before joining the team, he was a Staff Writer at What To Watch where he wrote about a broad range of shows that stretched from "Doctor Who" and "The Witcher" to "Bridgerton" and "Love Island". When he’s not watching the next must-see movie or show, he’s probably still in front of a screen playing massive RPGs, reading, spending a fortune on TCGs, or watching the NFL.
