It’s less about danger from others and more about watching a psychological breakdown unfold over time.
Becky Green (Erin Doherty) is a woman living a quiet, unremarkable life while obsessively fixating on the seemingly perfect world of her childhood friend Chloe Fairbourne (Poppy Gilbert) through social media. When Chloe suddenly dies, Becky quickly becomes consumed by unanswered questions about her death. She reinvents herself under a new identity and inserts herself into Chloe’s close circle of friends, gradually gaining access to their lives in order to uncover what really happened.

‘Tell Me Your Secrets’ (2021)

What’s interesting about “Tell Me Your Secrets” is that the show is structured around three parallel character studies that are eventually forced into a collision course. You spend most of the time questioning if the person you are rooting for is actually the monster of the story. So if you’re looking for a series that keeps you invested, “Tell Me Your Secrets” is well worth adding to your watchlist.
Emma (Lily Rabe) is a woman living under a new identity after a troubled past connected to a violent relationship. Mary (Amy Brenneman) is a grieving mother who becomes obsessed with finding her missing daughter and uncovering what really happened. John (Hamish Linklater) is a former offender trying to rebuild his life while seeking a form of redemption, but struggling to stay away from his past. As their paths cross, each of them gets pulled deeper into a maze of suspicion and dangerous secrets.

‘The English’ (2022)
Anyone who loves a good Western will probably enjoy “The English.” This is essentially a 6-hour cinematic epic that feels like a fever dream, and one of its strengths comes from the Technicolor aesthetic, where the skies are impossibly blue. But this beauty is constantly interrupted by sudden, shocking bursts of violence that the genre is known for. The stunning cinematography makes the brutality of the frontier feel even more jarring. Plus, Emily Blunt’s badassery comes from her refusal to break.
“The English” is set in 1890s America and follows Lady Cornelia Locke (Blunt), an English aristocrat who travels to the American West to find the man she believes is responsible for her son’s death. Along the way, she crosses paths with Eli Whipp (Chaske Spencer), a former Pawnee cavalry scout heading to Nebraska to claim land owed to him for his military service. The two form an uneasy partnership as they journey across a dangerous frontier filled with strangers and violence.
