Although this laptop isn’t designed for gaming at 4K and maximum graphics settings, it's good for playing the best PC games at medium settings. Here’s why you should consider buying the Lenovo LOQ 15.
This laptop is the latest iteration of the Legion LOQ 15 we reviewed last year. Like that machine, this portable gaming rig is good for its 1080p performance and comfortable keyboard. The last one is particularly noteworthy since few gaming laptops have a full keyboard. So whether it’s for gaming or getting work done, this LO Q 15 is up to the task.
Since this is a budget laptop, you’ll have to account for some of the trade-offs associated with such a machine. The performance is much better than you’d expect for a machine of this price, but the plastic chassis and so-so display let you know this isn’t a premium machine. The low-res webcam won’t win any awards, so keep that in mind if you’re in a video call.
For the best possible performance, you’ll want to enable Nvidia’s DLSS 4 for games that support the frame-boosting technology. Thanks to DLSS, this laptop can punch above its weight class and allow you to play games at smooth frame rates. Though you might be tempted to boost the resolution to 1440p or higher, I suggest keeping it at 1080p to maintain steady frame rates.
