This Garmin accessory is the best $8 I’ve spent — every Garmin owner should get one
Never worry about forgetting your Garmin cable again
I took a trip to see family over the Christmas break and when packing I noted how helpful it is that almost all my gadgets can now be charged via USB-C, so I don’t have to remember to bring several different cables.
A notable exception to this is the best sports watches, which often have a proprietary charging port — a necessary evil to ensure they offer the high level of water resistance required for swimming in particular.
As someone who’s been wearing a Garmin watch for the last decade, this means I always have to ensure I have a Garmin cable in my bag. That is until I bought this $8 USB-C adaptor which means I never have to worry about bringing a dedicated Garmin charging cable again.
There are lots of Garmin to USB-C adaptors available on Amazon but I went for this affordable two-pack and they've been great. The little loop on the top of the adaptor makes it easy to attach it to your keys, so you never leave it behind.
A portable lifesaver
It’s a simple, cheap and effective accessory that I think every Garmin watch owner could benefit from buying.
The adaptor means that I can use any USB-C cable to charge my Garmin and it has a small ring on the top so I can attach it to my keys, meaning it goes with me everywhere.
Unless I forget my keys of course, but then I have bigger problems than charging my Garmin.
It’s a simple, cheap and effective accessory that I think every Garmin watch owner could benefit from buying, something that’s backed up by the fact that many of my running friends who’ve seen it have bought one themselves.
Taking a leaf out of Coros’s book
Garmin rival Coros has been shipping a USB-C adaptor to charge its watches instead of a cable over the past year or so, and I’ve found it very useful with devices like the Coros Pace 4.

This is what prompted me to hunt for a similar adaptor for Garmin watches, and there is no shortage of third-party options available on Amazon at a low price.
I picked up a pack of two to ensure I’d have one available even if I lost the other. This adaptor works with every Garmin watch in the current line-up and most older watches too, since they share the same standard charging port.
I’d hope that Garmin might look at offering an adaptor as an option when buying its watches in the future, perhaps instead of a proprietary charging cable.
Almost everyone now has a USB-C cable, so an adaptor you can pop on your keys or in your wallet is very useful for making sure you always have what you need to charge your watch in a pinch.
