Samsung announces partnership with iFit to bring expert-led workouts to the Samsung Health app
Samsung is teaming up with fitness platform iFit to bring expert-led workouts to the Samsung Health app, and also integrating the Galaxy Watch line-up with the iFit ecosystem.
This means that, along with getting access to iFit workouts in the Health app (most of which will require a subscription), Samsung Galaxy Watch users will soon be able to link their device with iFit-enabled treadmills and other equipment from ProForm and NordicTrack to see their stats in real time, something already available on the Apple Watch.
The partnership between Samsung and iFit will fill a gap in Samsung’s offering, providing expert-led content for users in the same way Apple Fitness+ does.
What’s new in the Samsung Health app?
Hundreds of instructor-led workouts will be available in the Samsung Health app, though to unlock access to them, you will need an iFit subscription, which costs $9.99 per month or $99.99 per year.
There will be some free content as well, however, including one on-demand video per category per month. There are seven categories of workouts: high-intensity interval training (HIIT), Pilates, yoga, strength, recovery, barre, and mindfulness.
In addition to this, if you purchase a Samsung device, you’ll be able to unlock a free trial of the iFit subscription. If you buy a Galaxy Watch 8, Galaxy Watch 8 Classic, or Galaxy Watch Ultra in particular, you’ll get a three-month trial, while if you buy a Samsung smartphone or headphones, you can get a shorter trial.
