I’ve spent the year testing sleep trackers — I’m still wearing the Oura Ring now and it's $100 off this Black Friday

This year I've tested all the best sleep trackers and despite sitting in a highly competitive market alongside the likes of Apple, Whoop and Garmin, the Oura Ring 4 still sets the standard for sleep tracking and coaching. Right now, you can bag it for its lowest ever price with up to $150 off the Oura Ring 4 at Oura.

We rarely see a discount like this at Oura and have never seen the Ring 4 below $250 before, which is why I was so excited to spot this live Black Friday sleep deal. It cuts the cost of an Oura Ring 4 down to $249 from $349, which beats the previous lowest price of $296 that we saw around October Prime Day. I've sent the link to three friends already!

As the newest smart ring from Oura, the Oura Ring 4 is without doubt one of the best sleep trackers money can buy, with a range of colors available at different price points. After $100 off at Oura this Black Friday, you can get a silver or black ring for $249, a stealth or brushed silver option will set you back $299 (was $399), or you can get the most premium gold and rose gold rings for $349 (was $499). Just remember that you'll have to pay a monthly subscription fee of $5.99 to access all the features Oura has to offer.

Why I love my Oura Ring

Honestly, my Oura Ring is a conversation starter wherever I go. I have baristas and friends ask me about it regularly and I've even had Instagram DMs asking whether I think it's worth the money. So even when I'm not writing about it for work, rarely a day goes by that I don't sing its praises.

And I have the data to back up my claims. I've tested the Oura Ring 4 thoroughly under our sleep tracker testing methodology and pitted it against other popular wearables such as the Whoop MG, and when you compare the accuracy of sleep analytics, functionality and value for money, the Oura Ring continues to come out on top.

It accurately measures everything from time spent in bed through to heart rate variability, sleep stages, overall sleep score and readiness for the day ahead. Plus, it's comfortable to wear overnight, presents sleep data in a digestible, user-friendly format and has a great battery life, lasting for up to a week on a single charge. Plus, it fully charges within two hours so you needn't miss out on any data.

With my Oura Ring, I'm more accountable when it comes to sticking to a consistent sleep schedule (which is, in fact, my secret to falling asleep fast and waking up refreshed) and know exactly when my body could do with a little extra rest.

Geared towards helping you get the best rest possible, the Oura App provides sleep coaching as well as sleep audio content, giving even more bang for your buck.

On a tighter budget?

Oura Ring 3: now from $209.99 at Amazon

Oura Ring 3: now from $209.99 at Amazon
Its predecessor may be sold out at Oura, but there's still limited stock of the Oura Ring 3 at Amazon. Despite being a little older, the Oura Ring 3 is scientifically proven to offer great sleep tracking accuracy. Right now a silver Ring 3 is selling for $209.99 at Amazon which is cheaper than its previous MSRP of $299. So if you want to save an extra $39, snap the Oura Ring 3 up while you can. I've also tested this ring and think it tracks your sleep just as well as the upgraded Oura Ring 4.
