However, it's easy to overlook the DreamCloud Classic Memory Foam when discussing the best mattresses in a box. After all, DreamCloud features the hybrid prominently on its site and even charges slightly less money for it. But take it from me — if you're a stomach sleeper or share a bed with a restless partner, this is the DreamCloud bed you'll want to take a closer look at.

Of course, if neither version of the DreamCloud Classic feels like the right choice for your sleep, check out our guide to this year's best Black Friday mattress deals. DreamCloud Classic Hybrid vs Memory Foam: Price

  • The DreamCloud Classic Memory Foam costs $100-$200 more
  • However, the all-foam DreamCloud is $100 less in a twin size ($299)
  • Both come with a one-year trial, a lifetime warranty, and free bedding

Memory foam mattresses generally cost less than their hybrid counterparts, but that's not the case here. You'll pay between $100 and $200 more for the all-foam version of DreamCloud's flagship mattress.

During the DreamCloud Black Friday sale, a queen-size DreamCloud Classic Hybrid costs $699, while the DreamCloud Classic Memory Foam is $799 in the same size.

But there is an outlier: if you're buying a twin, you'll only pay $299 for the DreamCloud Classic Memory Foam vs $399 for the DreamCloud Classic Hybrid.

Either way, your DreamCloud mattress comes with a one-year sleep trial and a lifetime warranty. You'll also receive a bedding bundle that includes pillows, sheets, and a mattress protector (up to a $599 value).

DreamCloud Classic Hybrid vs Memory Foam: Materials & design

  • The wrapped coils give the hybrid DreamCloud more bounce and airflow
  • A dense foam core helps the all-foam DreamCloud dampen movement
  • Both models have a quilted top and a shift-resistant bottom cover

The DreamCloud Classic has three internal layers. There's a top memory foam comfort layer for pressure relief and an adaptive foam transition layer for support. The design diverges once we get to the foundational layer.

The hybrid version of the DreamCloud uses a bed of 8" individually wrapped coils with a thin layer of dense foam underneath to provide a stable base and targeted support. (The outermost coils are reinforced for sturdy edges.) The springs create a breathable, responsive surface.

The all-foam DreamCloud Classic instead uses a dense block of foam to balance out the softer top layers. According to the brand, the foam base layer has an edge-enhanced design to create a steady perimeter. This foam-forward design helps the DreamCloud Classic absorb impact more efficiently.

Both DreamCloud mattresses have the same CloudQuilt top woven with polyethylene fibers to wick away heat, as well as a shift-resistant bottom cover with a fiberglass-free flame retardant sewn into it.

Unfortunately, neither design has side carry handles, which can make rotating your mattress a bit of a pain.

DreamCloud Classic Hybrid vs Memory Foam: Comfort & support

  • The all-foam DreamCloud is firm (8/10) — good for stomach sleepers
  • The hybrid DreamCloud is medium (6/10) — suited for side sleepers
  • Back sleepers can go either way; it'll come down to preference

The DreamCloud Classic is rated an extra-firm mattress by the brand, regardless of the materials. We found that assessment accurate with the all-foam version; my fellow testers and I rated it an 8/10 firmness in our DreamCloud Classic Memory Foam Mattress review.

On the other hand, our experience with the hybrid DreamCloud was dramatically different. The panel in our DreamCloud Classic Hybrid Mattress review rated it a 6/10 on our firmness scale, putting it in medium territory.

So what does this mean? Side sleepers will benefit from the give of the DreamCloud Classic Hybrid's plusher surface. Lead tester Lauren noted that it gently cushioned her body and relieved pressure at the hips, shoulders, and knees — all while allowing her to maintain a neutral spine.

I'm a combination side and stomach sleeper, and much preferred the DreamCloud Classic Memory Foam for the latter. There's minimal pushback and just enough contouring to relieve buildup in my hips without having them sinking too low. This doesn't translate as well for strict side sleeping, especially if you weigh less than 130lbs.

What if you're a back sleeper? Honestly, you can go either way if you're an average-sized sleeper — both DreamCloud Classic mattresses delivered excellent full-body support in this position. It'll come down to your preference. Meanwhile, I'd recommend heavyweight sleepers choose with the all-foam DreamCloud and lightweight sleepers opt for the hybrid DreamCloud.

How to choose between them

Buy the DreamCloud Classic Hybrid in the Black Friday mattress sales if...

✅ You're a strict side sleeper: We found the DreamCloud Classic Hybrid softer than advertised. This worked out well for our side sleeping testers, as the coils and softer foams alleviated pressure in all the right places while keeping everything aligned.

✅ You weigh less than 130lbs: Whether you favor your back or your side at night, the medium firmness of the DreamCloud Classic Hybrid will be much more forgiving for lightweight sleepers than the firmer all-foam version.

✅ Edge support is a priority: Despite the overall firmer feel of the DreamCloud Classic Memory Foam, the reinforced coils of the hybrid version create a stronger perimeter. You'll be able to sit on and lie against the edges with more confidence.

✅ You're a stomach sleeper: The extra firm support of the all-foam DreamCloud provides excellent support for front sleeping. I was able to remain in this position without my hips sinking below the rest of my body.

✅ You weigh over 130lbs: The average to heavyweight sleepers in my testing panel benefitted from the robust support of the all-foam DreamCloud Classic. (It has a reported weight capacity of 1,000lbs — on par with what we see from the best mattresses for heavy people.)

✅ You don't sleep alone: Perhaps unsurprisingly, the DreamCloud Classic Memory Foam Mattress is more efficient at isolating movement than its hybrid sibling, making it a better choice if you don't want your partner's fidgeting to disturb you at night.
