If you haven't poked around lately, YouTube is a fantastic place to stream full movies for free, and you don't need YouTube Premium to do it. As long as you don't mind a few ads, you're good to go. And the selection is also a lot wider than people assume, which is good news for cinephiles looking for unique finds. The three picks below that I've rounded up include a 1995 cyberpunk anime, a multiverse comedy that won seven Oscars and Chris Farley trying to sell brake pads in Ohio.
Whether you're after a comfort watch, something that'll rearrange your head a little, or a movie you put on for noise while folding laundry, there's a little something for you. We dug through the catalog and pulled out the picks worth starting with. Have fun!
'Everything Everywhere All At Once'
Evelyn Wang (Michelle Yeoh) runs a failing laundromat, can't finish her taxes, and is losing her daughter and her husband at about the same time. Then said husband (Ke Huy Quan) ends up talking like a stranger, telling her that the multiverse needs her.
What follows is a raucous journey involving hot dog fingers, a sentient everything bagel, two rocks in a canyon and a fight scene choreographed around a fanny pack. Somehow it just works, though. It's a mind-bending tale about a mother and daughter who can't talk to each other, but in the end they learn to do so, in gorgeous, stunning Technicolor. Plus, it won seven Oscars, including Best Picture and Yeoh for Best Actress.

'Ghost in the Shell'
Mamoru Oshii's adaptation of Masamune Shirow's manga is set in 2029, where Major Motoko Kusanagi leads a covert government unit called Section 9 to hunt down a hacker known as the Puppet Master. He doesn't steal data, though, not in this dystopian future. He breaks into people's "cyberbrains" and rewrites their memories, giving them lives they never lived.
Kusanagi's own body is manufactured, which makes the case personal in ways she can't quite name or understand as she slowly adapts to a more human way of thinking. The Wachowskis screened this for Joel Silver when they were pitching "The Matrix," and it's obvious why. It runs 82 minutes and doesn't waste any of them. And if you love what you see, you can head over to Prime Video to see the newest anime series based on Shirow's original manga, "The Ghost in the Shell."

'Tommy Boy'
Big Tom Callahan (Brian Dennehy) drops dead at his own wedding reception, leaving his auto parts plant in Sandusky, Ohio to his son, who barely made it out of college. Chris Farley is Tommy, who now has to move enough brake pads to keep the bank from closing the place and putting the whole town out of work.
David Spade is an executive sent along to make sure Tommy doesn't blow it, because he's clearly not cut out to run the family business. The reviews in 1995 were rough for this buddy comedy with the legendary Farley, but it found its audience on video anyway. And we have to point this out: the fat-guy-in-a-little-coat bit never truly gets old.
