With a long Labor Day weekend looming, you may find yourself at loose ends. If so, fire up any of the new movies and shows to watch this weekend on Netflix, Prime Video and other streaming services.
From high-octane espionage in "The Terminal List: Dark Wolf" to a satirical spin on the afterlife in "Upload" season 4, there’s no shortage of variety. Prefer a cozy mystery? "The Thursday Murder Club" brings Richard Osman’s bestseller to life with a cast of legends. Or, if anti-superhero action is more your speed, "Thunderbolts*" arrives on Disney Plus to expand the MCU. Here are our top picks for new TV shows and movies to watch this weekend.
New TV shows
'The Terminal List: Dark Wolf' (Prime Video)
Taylor Kitsch returns as Ben Edwards in this prequel to "The Terminal List," tracing the Navy SEAL’s journey from battlefield warrior to CIA operative. Co-created by Jack Carr and David DiGilio, the series dives into the murky world of covert operations, where every decision carries weight far beyond the mission.
Chris Pratt reprises his role as James Reece, linking the story to the original series, while Tom Hopper ("The Umbrella Academy") ramps up the action in a key role.

'Upload' season 4 (Prime Video)
Amazon’s sci-fi comedy is logging off for good. In its fourth and final season, "Upload" follows Nathan (Robbie Amell) navigating the messy in-between of life, afterlife and a tech company that’s spiraling out of control. Lakeview glitches harder than ever, with rogue AI, power-hungry execs and heartbreak hitting both virtual and real worlds.
Throw in a life-coach chinchilla (yes, seriously), and you get Greg Daniels’ trademark blend of sharp satire and off-the-wall absurdity for one last upgrade.

'My Life With the Walter Boys' season 2 (Netflix)
Jackie is back with the Walter Boys, but her return to Silver Falls is far from smooth. After a summer in New York — and that unexpected kiss with Cole (Noah LaLonde) — she’s determined to reconnect with Alex (Ashby Gentry) and settle back into life at the Walter household. Easier said than done.
Alex is chasing rodeo dreams, Cole is trying to trade football for something less chaotic, and family farm drama keeps everyone on edge. With Jackie torn between past and present, season 2 promises higher stakes, bigger emotions and plenty of sparks.

‘With Love, Meghan’ season 2 (Netflix)
If you’ve ever alphabetized your pantry or convinced yourself a sourdough starter counts as a pet, “With Love, Meghan” is so your vibe. The Netflix lifestyle show returns with a second season that sees the Duchess of Sussex back in her Montecito kitchen, swapping stories and recipes with friends like Chrissy Teigen, Tan France, David Chang and Samin Nosrat.
There’s apple butter from her grandmother’s recipe, flower-filled ice cubes and a fair bit of California sunshine. Megan serves up crafts and cooking alongside candid stories about her husband, Prince Harry, and their family.

‘The Thursday Murder Club’ (Netflix)
Age ain’t nothing but a number, especially when it comes to cracking a good murder case. In this adaptation of Richard Osman’s bestselling books, four retirees (Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, Ben Kingsley, and Celia Imrie) trade in bingo nights for crime-solving sessions at their posh English retirement home.
What starts as a cozy hobby turns very real when a body turns up and pulls the quartet into a twisty whodunit. Directed by Chris Columbus, this Netflix caper makes getting older look downright dangerous — in the best way.

‘Together’ (PVOD)
For city folk, there’s nothing scarier than moving to the countryside … or is there? In Michael Shanks’s directorial debut, it’s what happens after. Real-life couple Dave Franco and Alison Brie star as Tim and Millie, a city pair hoping a fresh start will fix their fraying relationship.
Instead, they stumble into something nightmarish: an otherworldly force that worms its way into their bodies, their bond and their sense of self. “Together” takes the idea of codependency and pushes it to grotesque, gooey extremes. This is horror that knows love can be just as terrifying as whatever’s hiding in the dark.

‘Thunderbolts*’ (Disney Plus)
Marvel’s Thunderbolts is less Avengers, more group therapy with weapons. Florence Pugh’s Yelena leads this scruffy crew of betrayed antiheroes, including Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), U.S. Agent (Wyatt Russell), Red Guardian (David Harbour) and a mysterious sad sack named Bob (Lewis Pullman).
When they’re forced into a mission by the very shady CIA boss (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), they must contend with bitter rivalries, bruised egos and a lot of emotional baggage. This isn’t the usual shiny superhero team-up — and exactly what Marvel needed to shake up its franchise.
