With defending champion Joao Fonseca ruled out this year due to injury, it is Learner Tien who enters the tournament as the favorite. The American won his first ATP Tour trophy this year in Metz and has already beaten the likes of Daniil Medvedev, Alexander Zverev, Ben Shelton and Lorenzo Musetti in 2025.

However, the world No. 28 will expect a tough challenge to lift the title, especially from Belgian ace Alexander Blockx. The 20-year-old was ranked as the No. 1 in juniors and doubles earlier this year before winning a second ATP Challenger Tour title in Oeiras. He then qualified for the ATP Masters 1000 event in Miami and rose to a career-high No. 101 in November.

The duo will be joined in Saudi Arabia by Dino Prizmic, Martin Landaluce, Nicolai Budkov Kjaer, Nishesh Basavareddy, Rafael Jodar and Justin Engel, all of whom have enjoyed breakout seasons in 2025.

The winner of each group (best overall record) is placed in separate semi-final brackets, with the top player in Group A playing the runner-up in Group B, and vice versa. If two or more players are tied after the round-robin matches, the ties are broken by a tie-break procedure.
