In the men’s competition, US star Noah Lyles is the defending champion and will once again be the man to beat. The 28-year-old hasn’t won a 100m final this season but is the man for the big occasion and will relish the chance to overcome a high-class field. When it comes to challengers, Kishane Thompson and Oblique Seville have both beaten Lyles this year and will be hoping to deliver yet another sprint gold for Jamaica.

Over in the women’s event, Olympic champion Julien Alfred faces a huge challenge to add another major title to her collection. The 24-year-old from Saint Lucia will come up against reigning world champ Sha'Carri Richardson, Jamaica’s Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce (the third-fastest woman ever over 100m) and Shericka Jackson of Jamiaca (the fifth-fastest women in history). It’s a stacked field that should deliver a thrilling final in Tokto.
