Netflix is constantly serving up fresh shows and movies each and every week, and that constant stream of new releases can mean it's all but impossible to stay on top of all the latest and greatest movies on one of the best streaming services on the market.

If you don't want to waste time scrolling through the Netflix catalog to find something new to stream this weekend, we keep a very close eye on what's new to Netflix at Tom's Guide and regularly highlight a handful of top picks to make sure you've always got a ready-made list of recommendations to hand.

'Jay Kelly'

Noah Baumbach's "Jay Kelly" revolves around the titular movie star (played by George Clooney) as he sets off on a journey of self-discovery. Accompanied by his manager, Ron (Adam Sandler), Jay heads off on a whirlwind trip across Europe, wherein both men are forced to confront their past choices, relationships, and what legacies they'll leave behind.

TG's own Senior Entertainment Editor (UK), Rory Mellon, proclaimed the film "the best George Clooney movie in a decade" in his review earlier this week, calling it "a charming but melancholic comedy-drama" and recommending viewers seek it out.

It's proven popular with Netflix members, too: despite releasing a week ago, the movie's still sitting at the No. 2 spot in the Netflix charts. If you're not caught up on this Netflix hit, this weekend could be the perfect time to do so.

If you're looking for a thriller this weekend, Anthony Minghella's Oscar-nominated 1999 adaptation of Patricia Highsmith's famous novel is arriving on Netflix on Saturday, December 13 — and it's absolutely worth revisiting.

We follow Tom Ripley (Matt Damon), a con artist who is approached by a businessman to head off to Italy and persuade his playboy son Dickie Greenleaf (Jude Law) to come back home.

Tom, however, becomes obsessed with Dickie's lavish way of life, and when his errand goes awry, he resorts to extreme measures to keep the life he's charmed his way into (and to keep his lies from catching up with him).

'Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery'

If there's one movie you should have at the top of your list this weekend, it's this. After a brief theatrical run, Rian Johnson's "Wake Up Dead Man" is now available on Netflix, and in my opinion, it's the best "Knives Out" movie yet.

This threequel sees Daniel Craig's brilliant detective, Benoit Blanc, heading to the small town of Chimney Rock to investigate his darkest and most mystifying case yet: the death of firebrand preacher, Monsignor Jefferson Wicks (Josh Brolin), who was somehow murdered in a side room halfway through a church service.

Blanc teams with young priest Jud Duplenticy (Josh O'Connor) and local police chief, Geraldine Scott (Mila Kunis) in an effort to find the truth and identify the murderer from Wicks' group of followers. It's another brilliantly entertaining watch — you won't want to miss it.

Staff Writer, Streaming

Martin is a Streaming Writer at Tom’s Guide, covering all things movies and TV. If it’s in the theaters or available to stream somewhere, he’s probably watched it… especially if it has a dragon in it. Before joining the team, he was a Staff Writer at What To Watch where he wrote about a broad range of shows that stretched from "Doctor Who" and "The Witcher" to "Bridgerton" and "Love Island". When he’s not watching the next must-see movie or show, he’s probably still in front of a screen playing massive RPGs, reading, spending a fortune on TCGs, or watching the NFL.
