3 best new to Netflix movies you should stream this weekend (Feb. 20-22)

Like all the best streaming services, Netflix delivers a steady stream of new TV shows and movies throughout the year, and while its biggest release of the week is most assuredly "The Night Agent" season 3, the streamer still has some new releases to offer would-be viewers. And, if you're looking to spend your weekend relaxing on the sofa but you don't yet know which movie(s) you're planning to stream over the next couple of days, I'm here to help.

I've scrolled through the list of everything that's new on Netflix in February 2026 and pulled together a brief list of recommendations that I think you should have on your radar, including a freshly released Netflix original and some recently added movies that came to the Netflix library in recent days. 'Firebreak' (2026)

"Firebreak" is a Spanish-language Netflix original that's just hit the stream, as of publication today (Feb. 20). Billed as a "high-tension psychological thriller" by Netflix, David Victori's new release deals with secrets, family drama, a missing child, and a raging inferno.

The movie introduces us to Mara (Belén Cuesta), who heads on one last trip to the family summer home with her daughter, Lide (Candela Martínez), her brother-in-law and his wife, and their son, following the death of Mara's husband. The trip should have been a simple goodbye to the property, but it's turned on its head when Lide vanishes, just before a wildfire breaks out in the forest.

'The Expendables'

If your idea of peak cinema involves one of cinema's many action stars, then Netflix has the franchise for you: "The Expendables." Yes, as of today, the streamer is currently home to all four "Expendables" movies, meaning you can see the likes of Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, and Bruce Willis (to name but a few) back in action.

Created by David Callaham, "The Expendables" is a throwback to the action thrillers of the 80s and 90s, featuring ensembles that include both the stars of those flicks (alongside newer faces) taking on deadly missions that no one else would ever touch as an elite team of war-hardened, skilled mercenaries. They're not exactly the finest films you'll find on Netflix, but if you're just in the mood for explosive action, any one of these films will doubtless fit the bill.

'The Iron Claw' (2023)

If you're looking for an emotional watch this weekend, I can't recommend streaming "The Iron Claw" enough. Written and directed by Sean Durkin, this sports drama is based on the true story of the Von Erich brothers — Kevin (Zac Efron), Kerry (Jeremy Allen White), David (Harris Dickinson), and Mike (Stanley Simons) — as they strive to make their mark in the world of professional wrestling through the early 1980s.

Working under their domineering father/coach, former wrestler Fritz Von Erich (Holt McCallany), and contending with a fabled family curse that's brought tragedy across generations, this is a powerful, devastating dramatization boasting some incredible performances.
