Insane to say, but we're halfway through 2026, folks. It seems time really does fly when you're having fun and watching great movies, and luckily, this weekend is full of even more of them on Netflix. As you likely already know, the mega-popular streaming service gives it sprawling library of film and TV titles a regular refresh every month, bringing in new movies and shows so that your weekend binge watches are never dull or redundant.
To guide you through that ocean of options, though, we've made things even easier by spotlighting a handful of new films landing on the streamer that are well worth checking out. They include a sports documentary on tennis legends Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova, a buddy comedy starring John Cena and Eric André, and an Oscar Isaac-led mafia drama centered around an original manuscript of Dante's "The Divine Comedy."
It's quite the diverse spread, so without further ado, here are three new Netflix movies we recommend you check out this weekend.
'Chris & Martina: The Final Set'
Directed by two-time Emmy Award winner Rebecca Gitlitz ("Under Pressure: The U.S. Women's World Cup Team," "American Prince: JFK Jr."), this Netflix sports documentary explores the decades-long professional rivalry and personal friendship between tennis legends Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova from the 1970s through to the present. ("In the beginning, it was fine for me to be friends with her, because I was better than her," Evert jokes at one point in the film.)
The 90-minute doc includes rare interviews with the titular athletes (an especially fun feature is seeing both Evert and Navratilova watching and commenting on their classic matches together), their fellow tennis stars like soon-to-be Hall of Fame inductee Mary Carillo and seven-time Grand Slam singles champion John McEnroe, and those nearest and dearest to them such as Evert's brother John.

'In the Hand of Dante'
Based on the 2002 novel by Nick Tosches, this Julian Schnabel-directed literary drama sees Oscar Isaac in two roles: as Dante Alighieri, the 14th-century Italian poet behind "The Divine Comedy," and as Nick Tosches, a 21st-century New York author recruited by a mob boss (played by John Malkovich) to steal an original handwritten manuscript of Alighieri's famed poem straight from the Vatican library.
The ambitious flick alternates between the colorful past and a black-and-white present, all populated with a dizzyingly star-studded ensemble that includes Gerard Butler, Gal Gadot, Louis Cancelmi, Sabrina Impacciatore, Franco Nero, Benjamin Clementine, Paolo Bonacelli, Jason Momoa, Al Pacino and Martin Scorsese.

'Little Brother'
What happens when you get famously funny fellas John Cena and Eric André in a movie together? Comedic chaos, obviously. In "Little Brother," Cena stars as Rudd, a famous New York City real estate agent and family man whose carefully curated world gets upended when Marcus (André)—his eccentric former little brother from a Big Brother-esque mentorship program—suddenly comes crashing back into his life.
The Netflix original was directed by Matt Spicer ("Ingrid Goes West" from a script by "The D Train" duo Jarrad Paul and Andrew Mogel; along with Cena and André, the crowd-pleasing cast includes Sherry Cola, Christopher Meloni, Ego Nwodim, and Caleb Hearon.
