While I'm a happy iPhone user, and my MacBook is as steadfast a work companion as I could ask for, my old iPad is probably my favorite Apple device to use. The mix of portability, a perfectly-sized, attractive display and compatibility with all my favorite apps means it's never far from my side. But it's over six years old now, and could probably use an upgrade.
I've had my eye on the iPad Pro M5 since it launched, but the high price has put me off running down to the nearest Apple Store, with my old tablet ready to trade in. But luckily for me, the 256GB 11-inch iPad Pro M5 is down to $899 at Amazon. The price has been this low before, but it fluctuates from week to week, so if you're doing some Presidents' Day deals shopping this is definitely one to consider.
The deal is only available on the Space Black version of the iPad Pro, which to be honest, I prefer to the Silver option anyway. Unfortunately, the current Amazon U.K. version of this deal is only 5% off rather than 10%, which makes me rather jealous. I guess that's what we Brits get for not having presidents to honor with a public holiday.
Assuming you don't want the larger 13-inch display, this is the pinnacle of Apple's tablets to date. It'll handle streaming your content in beautiful detail and color, demanding games and even pro workflows with the greatest of ease, all while being slim and light enough to take anywhere.
Apple launched the iPad Pro M5 late last year, and it immediately dazzled us once we began testing. Powered by the same M5 chip found in the latest MacBook Pro, it's got more than enough power to handle typical tablet tasks like video streaming or gaming, and runs rings around the competition in benchmark testing. And when paired with a keyboard accessory like Apple's Magic Keyboard, it could be a viable laptop replacement depending on the kind of work you do.
The Tandem OLED display, which uses two layers of OLED pixels on top of one another, means this is the brightest tablet we've ever had in the TG lab, great for making on-screen content pop, even outdoors. And wherever you take the tablet, the WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 6 compatibility mean you get the best possible connection. You can even pay extra to add 5G connectivity for truly mobile computing, but I wouldn't recommend that in this case because the discount isn't as deep. Also, while the 5G iPad Pro M5 is available in Silver at Amazon, it's only offering refurbished units in the (in my opinion cooler-looking) Space Black colorway.
With our main complaint in our review being the price, you can see why now's the time to strike and buy yourself the ultimate in Apple tablet tech. Assuming you live on the correct side of the Atlantic.
