Score $600 off this sweet RTX 5070 OLED gaming laptop while you can

Now that we're a few weeks into 2026 I expect to see more and more deals and sales on laptops and PCs as new models hit stores and retailers discount old stock. I know because I cover laptops for a living here at Tom's Guide, and while prices are expected to be high this year you can still find some killer laptop deals if you know where to look.

For example, the Lenovo Legion 5 is $1,399 at Best Buy, which is $600 off the usual $1,999 asking price. That's a pretty sweet deal on this OLED gaming laptop packing an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 GPU.

This Lenovo Legion 5 sports an eye-catching 15.1-inch OLED 1600p 165Hz display powered by an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX CPU, a capable Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 laptop GPU, 16GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD to store your favorite games.

Now it's still not exactly cheap even with over a thousand bucks shaved off the price, but it's one of the best gaming laptop deals I've seen since Black Friday and I don't think you'll see this machine at a cheaper price anytime soon.

And frankly, given how expensive memory is going to get in the year ahead now that RAM prices are exploding, it's not a bad idea to buy a cutting-edge gaming laptop like this one now rather than risk waiting and watching the price climb higher in 2026.

If you or someone on your list loves PC gaming I think it's highly unlikely you'll regret buying this laptop. I say that because I wrote our Lenovo Legion Pro 7i review earlier this year, and you can read it to see why it was the most fun I've ever had doing my job.

For starters, we put this laptop through our testing lab and discovered this beastly gaming machine delivers great performance in even the best Steam games (like Apex Legends, Cyberpunk 2077 or Red Dead Redemption 2) without breaking a sweat.

That's not terribly surprising given it comes packing an Intel Core Ultra 9 CPU and Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 laptop GPU inside the Legion Pro 7i's slim black chassis. They work together with the 32GB of RAM to let you run as many games as you can fit on the 2TB of SSD storage at great framerates on the 16-inch (2560 x 1600) 240Hz OLED display.

I'm a big fan of a quality OLED display because it gives you more saturated colors, deeper blacks and more striking contrasts than a non-OLED display. And since the 16" OLED on the Legion Pro 7i supports HDR and Nvidia G-Sync you can count on great gaming experiences that are buttery-smooth at up to 240 frames per second.

You get a versatile port array on this beast to boot, including USB-A and USB-C as well as HDMI 2.1 for gaming on a big screen and an RJ-45 Ethernet jack for plugging it into one of the best gaming routers. Even if you can't plug in you can take advantage of the Wi-Fi 7 support for wireless gaming on the go. Just be sure to pack the charger if you take this beast out for a jaunt, because (like most gaming laptops) it doesn't last long on battery power—roughly 90 minutes while gaming or 4-5 hours while browsing the web.

While this machine was a couple hundred bucks cheaper on Black Friday proper, the current discounted price is lower than it was before Thanksgiving and I expect it will go up come 2026, so I suggest snagging one now if you want one!
