The LG C5 OLED is one of my favorite TVs ever, and right now it's 48% off in Best Buy's Presidents' Day sale

The holiday weekend is upon us, but you don't have to wait until Monday to shop some of the best Presidents' Day sales, as many of the biggest retailers have already started cutting prices. As Senior TV Editor, I've been laser-focused on TV sales, and I'm pleased to report that many of the best sets I've seen in the last year are seeing some serious discounts.

In fact, my favorite TV of 2025 — the LG C5 OLED — is on sale for 48% off its original retail price. You can get the 65-inch LG C5 for just $1,399 at Best Buy this weekend, which is a whopping $1,300 off.

In our five-star LG C5 review, we showered this OLED TV with praise for its sensational performance, its class-leading selection of features and its approachable price point. The C5 delivers all of the benefits we've come to expect from OLED displays, but its design, software and overall experience is the result of LG's excellent engineering.

Since LG's next wave of TVs won't be launching for a few months, an argument can be made that the LG C5 is the all-around best TV in LG's portfolio right now. It all comes down to three things: performance, features and value.

First, let's talk about performance. The C5 is the latest in a long line of superb mid-range OLED TVs from LG. It’s not as bright or colorful as more-expensive OLED TVs from LG or competing brands, but it nevertheless sports a stunning picture.

Like all OLEDs, every single pixel in the C5’s display is self-illuminating, which allows for perfect black levels and pixel-level contrast control. This is what gives an OLED TV its unmistakable depth and clarity.

As mentioned, the C5 isn’t as bright as higher-end OLED TVs, but it’s plenty bright for sports, shows and movies. Content mastered for HDR is especially eye-catching, and the C5 even supports Dolby Vision, the most popular enhanced HDR format.

The C5 is also overflowing with features for gaming and streaming. It comes with nearly every feature you’ll find on the higher-end, flagship-level LG G5 OLED, it just comes at a much lower price.

The C5 is also overflowing with features for gaming and streaming.

These feature include support for 4K gaming at 120Hz across a full suite of HDMI 2.1-compatible inputs, Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), AMD FreeSync Premium support and LG’s Game Optimizer Mode. As far as gaming features go, the C5 is at the top of its class.

Finally, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the C5's tremendous value. This is a TV whose performance and features feel like they ought to amount to a much higher price tag, and this was already the case before this Presidents' Day discount.

If you're looking to upgrade your living room to a TV that will stun friends and family, the C5 should be at the top of your list of candidates. If you're intrigued, take advantage of this nearly half-off price while you can.
