I used to think MagSafe battery packs were a waste until I finally caved in and tried one out — here’s what happened

MagSafe battery packs aren’t new, but they’re the one iPhone accessory I’ve been reluctant to use. That might sound surprising given how I’m constantly testing the best MagSafe chargers and other useful gear — like a MagSafe wallet with built-in Find My support and another that adds the same ports as my PC.

But after trying the Lisen Qi2 15W Ultra Slim MagSafe Battery Pack for a week, my perception has changed. This ultra-compact power bank offers 15W wireless charging, a USB-C port to charge other gadgets, and a 5,000mAh capacity that’s perfect for on-the-go top-ups. Best of all, it’s currently 37% off for a limited time.

Easily top off your devices with the Lisen Qi2 15W Ultra Slim MagSafe Battery Pack, which features a 5,000 mAh capacity and 22.5W wired speed, all in a compact design that can fit in your pocket.

They’re way more affordable than you think

You can get the Lisen Qi2 15W Ultra Slim MagSafe Battery Pack for under $25 right now, thanks to a 37% instant discount. This is significantly cheaper than other multi-chargers and power banks I’ve tested. For example, the InfinaCore P3 Pro is a 3-in-1 MagSafe charger with a 10,000mAh battery — yet it costs a staggering $129.

These MagSafe power banks don't come cheap, which is why I have a newfound appreciation for dedicated MagSafe battery packs like this one from Lisen. It conveniently snaps onto the back of my iPhone 17 Pro, and at $25 a pop, it’s affordable enough to buy on impulse without hesitation.

Compact size makes it convenient to use

There’s only so much I can cram into my Wandrd backpack for my daily commute, so I have to be picky about what makes the cut. Most of the multi-chargers I’ve tested take up as much room as my laptop’s power adapter, but thanks to its 0.3-inch slim design, I can easily slide this MagSafe battery pack into even the tightest backpack pocket.

When I’m at the office and need to move around the city, I’ve been frequently tossing it into my smaller shoulder bag. Many other MagSafe battery packs are significantly thicker and heavier, making it awkward to actually use my iPhone while it's charging — but that’s not the case here. In fact, it’s nearly as compact as some of the MagSafe wallets I use.

Uninterrupted power delivery

Even though my iPhone 17 Pro is capable of up to 25W wireless charging speeds, this Lisen battery pack caps out at 15W. That's still plenty fast enough to get a decent amount of juice back into my iPhone with just 30 minutes of charging. Since it’s MagSafe, there’s no fussing with cables — although it does unlock faster speeds if you go the wired route. Lisen claims it can reach up to 22.5W via USB-C, which is incredibly helpful in a pinch when I’m running dangerously low.

It immediately starts the charging process the moment I attach it, but I can manually cut off the power supply by long-pressing the button on the side. This allows me to keep the battery pack attached to my iPhone without active charging, ensuring I’m not forcing the phone to take a charge when it doesn't need it.

Admittedly, I used to dismiss MagSafe battery packs as overpriced novelties. However, the Lisen Qi2’s slim design and $25 price point finally proved me wrong. Its ability to provide 15W of cable-free power without adding significant bulk makes it an essential companion for my iPhone during a busy commute.
