The Emma Hybrid Airgrid plummets to its lowest ever price in Black Friday sale — here's why I recommend it to side sleepers
Save up to £500 on the Emma Hybrid Airgrid mattress in new early Black Friday mattress sale
The Black Friday mattress sales are a chance to upgrade your sleep. If you're on the lookout for an affordable all-rounder, Emma is a mattress brand that should be on your radar. And right now there's a 30% off Black Friday mattress sale at Emma.
The mattress I'd recommend is the premium Emma Hybrid Airgrid bed, which we rate as the best mattress for side sleepers in our guide. As the lead tester for this mattress, I found it to be a plush, cushioning bed, with plenty of contouring comfort around my shoulders, hips and knees.
However, the Airgrid is just one mattress in a suite of mattresses for all budgets and sleep positions discounted in the Emma Black Friday mattress sales. The entire UK line-up recently underwent a re-branding, resulting in significant RRP changes. This means that while the discount might not top the 50% deal from last year, you're still getting your Emma mattress at an (often) even lower price.
Emma Hybrid Airgrid mattress: single from £669 now £468.30 at Emma
This 27cm tall mattress boasts 7 layers of comfort including cushioning foams, a three-zone pocket spring system and the Airgrid Technology layer which delivers a weightless sensation. During the Emma Hybrid Airgrid mattress review period, I was impressed by how it cradled my body when sleeping on my side, without the feeling of sinking into the bed (which is a usual issue you'll encounter with plush beds). The UltraDry soft top cover and the cooling gel-infused Airgrid layer ensures a neutral temperature, which meant I never woke up due to overheating or sweating (even during a particularly warm British spring). The RRP drop and current 30% discount translates to the best Emma mattress sale we've seen on this model. A double Emma Hybrid Airgrid will now cost you £699.30 (from £999). Sleep benefits include a 200-night sleep trial, 10-year guarantee and free delivery and returns.

Need a firmer bed? Try this instead...
One disadvantage of this boxed mattress is the lack of enough lumbar support, especially if you're someone like me who is prone to lower back aches and pains.
Emma rates this bed 8 out of 10 on the firmness scale (10 being the softest — which is the opposite to most other mattress brands) translating to a medium-soft mattress. Based on my experience, I agree with the score.
This means it's not an ideal choice for above average weight bodies or dedicated back or stomach sleepers, who require a firmer mattress to ensure they are properly supported while they sleep. Is that you? Here's another deal to consider:
Rem-Fit 500 Ortho Hybrid mattress: single from £499 now £382.49 at Rem-Fit
The combination of 2000 firm pocket springs and high-density foam layers make it a great choice for back and stomach sleepers who value robust lumbar support. We rate is as the best mattress for back pain in our buyer's guide. According to our Rem-Fit 500 Ortho Hybrid mattress review panel, it rates 8 out of 10 on the firmness scale, here 10 being the firmest. You can now get a double Rem-Fit 500 Ortho mattress at £497.25 (was £699.99) with code BLACK15, plus free bedding including memory foam pillows and pillow protectors. It also comes with a 200-night trial, 15-year guarantee and free delivery.
