Saatva's Waterproof Mattress Protector is sold out online — here's what I'm buying instead

It's true that Saatva's luxury Waterproof Mattress Protector sets the bar pretty high, with top-quality materials like jersey-knit cotton and an "undetectable" food-grade polyurethane moisture barrier.

However, the product is currently out of stock both on their official website and Amazon store. The good news is, I've found the perfect alternative from a similar luxury mattress brand: the Purple Waterproof Mattress Protector which is now 20% off at Purplefor Black Friday.

Purple Waterproof Mattress Protector: was $119 now $95 at Purple

Right now you can save up to 20% in Purple mattress sales which is the best discount we've seen yet on the Purple Waterproof Mattress Protector, dropping the price of a standard-depth queen protector from $149 to $119. You can also enjoy generous sleep benefits: a 30-night trial period, 10-year warranty and free shipping.

Why I think the Purple Waterproof Mattress Protector is a worthy alternative

During the Purple Waterproof Mattress Protector review period, I found it delivers what the Saatva promises, and more. It consists of a top polyester soft-knit fabric with a subtle sheen, backed by a 100% waterproof thermoplastic polyurethane layer, and comes in standard or deep pocket depths.

The antimicrobial and hypoallergenic material excelled in multiple spill, wash and dry tests — the liquid never seeped into my bed, it came out of every wash-dry cycle stainless. It is also by far the quietest waterproof mattress protector I've come across, and I can confidently say it's the definition of an invisible barrier against liquids, stains, dust and other allergens.

Polyester may not be as naturally breathable as the cotton used in the Saatva, but I found the Purple protector slept at a neutral temperature ideal for most. However, if you're a hot sleeper, consider the Brooklyn Bedding Luxury Cooling protector instead.
