I gave Origin’s Hybrid Mattress ⅘ stars in my recent review — and this 49% discount makes it even easier to recommend

We're gearing up for peak sales season here in Australia, with Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days just over a week away and Black Friday 2025 not that far behind. But if you're after a brand-new mattress, there's no need to hold off until the sales start, as Origin's just delivered a heck of a deal on its Hybrid Mattress.

Right now, the mattress is the cheapest it has been since June this year, down to just AU$636 for a king size — that's an impressive AU$707 off RRP for the biggest size and quite the bargain! When you put this into perspective, that's how much you can expect to pay for a double-sized hybrid mattress when discounted at some other brands. In fact, all sizes of this mattress are down by 49%, so you can take your pick if you’re in the market for a new bed.

Don't hit snooze on this deal — this discounted rate will expire on September 30, 2025, unless sold out prior, as Origin is listing the Hybrid as a clearance item.

I was rather impressed with the Origin Hybrid mattress in my review, especially considering the attractively low price and the support this bed provides. And now that price is even more enticing, with an impressive AU$707 knocked off for a king-sized bed at checkout. If you're after a quality-made hybrid mattress, this deal shouldn't be slept on.

Also available in other sizes, including:
Origin Hybrid Mattress (single): AU$847 AU$446
Origin Hybrid Mattress (king single): AU$957 AU$503
Origin Hybrid Mattress (double): AU$1,063 AU$541
Origin Hybrid Mattress (queen): AU$1177 AU$598

You can get more details about it in my Origin Hybrid Mattress review, where I said it offers "exceptional value for money" as it combines memory foam and spring support in an affordable package.

I spent two months testing it and found the Hybrid sleeps firmer than advertised, so it might not suit everyone. While Origin rates this as a medium-firm (6.5/10) mattress, I’d say it’s firm, putting it at an 8 out of 10 on the firmness scale

In my opinion, I think it’s better suited for back and stomach sleepers, as it can put a little pressure on the shoulders because the top foam layer doesn’t really mould around this bony part of the body. That said, I found it delivers excellent spinal alignment and support for any sleeping style, but side sleepers could potentially use a plush mattress topper to add some softness. Origin stocks a flippable mattress topper and a memory foam mattress topper, both of which are also discounted right now.

The mattress did a commendable job of temperature regulation, thanks to its cooling gel and airflow-enhancing layers, and I never found cause for complaint when it came to minimising motion isolation, which makes it ideal for couples.

My only complaint is that the Origin Hybrid doesn’t have a removable cover, but that's a small niggle simply fixed with a mattress protector.

So, if you've been thinking about changing your mattress, I strongly recommend you give the Origin Hybrid a consideration. If you need more alternatives, you can take a look at our picks of the best mattresses in Australia right now.
