If you're a fan of novel kitchen appliances (like me), you've probably heard of Ninja Kitchen, an appliance maker whose products have a penchant for going viral. From coffee machines to air fryers, ice cream makersand everything in between, if it's a small cooking appliance, Ninja basically has it.

I am the proud owner of the Ninja Slushi, the slushy machine that racked up a 50K-strong waitlist before releasing in Australia, and sold out within minutes. Globally, the Slushi was a hit too, becoming a viral product all over social media.

Ninja Slushi: was AU$499 now AU$334.99 at Amazon

It's worth noting that Amazon's RRP isn't really in line with the AU$499 price that the Slushi usually sells for. However, even when correcting for the latter, you're still getting 33% off, bringing it down to a nice AU$334.99 — the equal cheapest price we've seen so far for the machine. The Ninja Slushi turns liquids into smooth frozen drinks by using specialised RapidChill technology, so you don't need to add ice.

Earlier this year, I was able to get my hands on the Ninja Slushi when it became available in Australia, and I had plenty of fun testing it and churning out concoctions in the vessel.

The machine has different temperature and texture controls that creates beverages in up to 60 minutes at max capacity, with five preset settings — Slush, Spiked Slush, Frappé, Milkshake and Frozen Juice.

After owning the machine for almost a year, my favourite types to make are a frozen cola and, if I am in the mood for something spiked, a Pina Colada. Now that I've perfected my Slushi settings, every beverage is the perfect icy consistency; they're perfect on a hot summer's day.

It's worth pointing out that most recipes will call for some tweaking of the presets on the machine. Whether that's changing the freezing temperature or using a different setting entirely, you might need to play around to find the right settings for your chosen frozen bevvy.

After the trial and error that comes with almost any new kitchen appliance, I'm sure frozen drink fanatics will get a kick out of this machine.
