First-time kitchen essentials for grads — 12 basics I'd buy again in a heartbeat

After you've lived on your own for a while, your kitchen is likely well-equipped with durable cookware and useful gadgets (and probably a few that you used once and then forgot about). But when you're just starting out after graduation, you pretty much have nothing. Grads might have some dinnerware, utensils, and a few other dorm kitchen basics, but most won't have the essentials to cook a decent meal.

I cook most of my meals, so my kitchen has accumulated a lot over the years. But if I had to throw it all out today and start over tomorrow, I'd definitely start with the 12 basics below (excluding dinnerware, drinkware, and eating utensils).
