IKEA's adorable new portable lamp looks like a sad giraffe, and I want to give it a big hug
It's one of the 1,510 items that are new at IKEA this month
I love a new IKEA find. I recently had a store open close to my house, so you can bet I am always on my IKEA app, sleuthing through their new in section and trying to find a place to squeeze everything I add to my basket into my 3-bedroom end-unit townhome.
Among the 1,000+ newly added products to the IKEA website is the GREJSIMOJS range. This collection adds a new layer of playfulness to the home. These 27 standout pieces bring the fun and color to any playroom or kids' bedroom — and if your kids love animals, you're in total luck. Think everything from a cat-shaped storage bin to a dog-shaped table lamp and even a balance board.
Among these new products, I spotted a very cute (but a little morose-looking) giraffe. This giraffe is a cordless floor lamp that's designed for children. It's easy to turn on and off, and it has a built-in timer, so it switches off after 15 minutes of shining. It's the perfect light for tackling those bedtime woes and the "another story?" calls. This way, you can set the record straight away: stories until the light switches off!
Not your average floor light
This cute little giraffe is yellow in color and plastic in construction. It requires 2 AA batteries to illuminate, and when switched on (by a tap on its face) it gives off a warm light — perfect for illuminating their bedtime stories. Its head can be tilted to the left or right, so that it's in the perfect position for them, while it sits at 29.5" tall.
It brings a pop of color to a kids' room or a playroom, and its soft, curved design adds a soft feel to any space. Since it's cord-free, you can place it anywhere you (or they) like.
This standing floor lamp is battery-powered and comes in white. It's nice and lightweight as it's made from plastic, and, handily enough, it has a 15-minute timer when switched on, so it will automatically switch off afterwards. Great for the kids' bedroom, this means you won't have to risk opening their door again once their eyes are closed and they've entered the Land of Nod.
Bringing color and cool to the kids' room
There are lots more new buys in the kids' department at IKEA. If it's an animal-theme and wildly colorful space that you're going for, then check out these furniture finds:
Cat-shaped and available in black and white or white and orange, this small tub is perfect for holding anything from LEGO to their game controllers, or even crafting stuff. Its head pops off to reveal its inside, and it's made from 50% recycled plastic.
This pouffe is a fun addition to a playroom, or a large bedroom, and you can lift its lid to reveal heaps of hidden toy storage space inside it. It sits on animal-like feet, and when its lid is open, you can see its sharp, monster-like teeth. Yellow in color, it even has a removable cover on its lid that's machine washable.
A dimmable table lamp for dog lovers, sit this on their nightstand and watch as it adds a glow to their bedroom. Blue in color and corded, this lamp is easy to use for everyone — press and hold the button on the dog's head to dim the light to your preference.
A moose-shaped stool for neutral lovers, this veneer beauty is fun yet sophisticated enough for a living room. They can switch the stool's antlers and tail to have some fun, while it's perfect for dining, climbing, and even crafting.
