How to watch ‘The Lowdown’ online — stream the gritty Ethan Hawke series from anywhere
Ethan Hawke is Lee Raybon, a self-styled "truthstorian" or (as others put it) "a man who knows too much".

If the trailer for "The Lowdown" (see below) is anything to go by, this is the role we have been waiting for Ethan Hawke to play. He looks as though he was born to be citizen activist Lee Raybon - a curious mix between Jeffrey "The Dude" Lebowski (played by Jeff Bridges in "The Big Lebowski") and Travis Bickle (Robert de Niro in "Taxi Driver")...
Here's where to watch "The Lowdown" online and from anywhere with a VPN.

As fond of a citizen's arrest and doing his civic duty as he is of chasing down and exposing corruption, Raybon runs a rare book shop and regards himself as a "truthstorian". Some in high places - particularly the powerful Washberg family - have a different take.
To them, he is an interfering and dangerous nuisance whose constant amateur sleuthing threatens to expose uncomfortable intel ("Hidden tunnels, some freaky stuff, stolen art") that could jeopardize their social standing and threatens to get all gubernatorial.

Is Ethan Hawke's character Lee Raybon based one someone real?
It is. Raybon is "loosely based"/ "inspired" by Lee Roy Chapman, a self-taught historian, archive hunter, collector of obscure artifacts (books, documents, photos) about Tulsa’s under-told or hidden past that he used to challenge the dubious heritage of powerful interests in the city.
