Even so, West Ham can take heart from completing the double over United last season: a 2–1 win at the London Stadium, Erik ten Hag’s final game in charge, followed by a 2–0 victory at Old Trafford. Another triumph on Thursday would give the Hammers consecutive league wins at Old Trafford for the first time since 1934.
