How long can you keep up a lie before it all starts to unravel? Well, in "Upgraded," that's exactly what art intern Ana (Camila Mendes) finds out after a chance meeting with a handsome Brit named William (Archie Renaux) on a flight. When he mistakes her for an art director, she plays along in the hopes that the white lie will get her closer to her dream of opening her own art gallery.

However, as they grow closer, her lies just keep piling up, even as her life takes a Cinderella-esque turn for the better. When Will's famous mother, Catherine (Lena Olin), plans to have Ana's boss broker an upcoming auction, it puts both the guy and the job of her dreams at risk if she can't keep up the precarious charade.

"Picture This" isn't perfect by any means, but it's exactly the kind of charming rom-com that hits the spot when you're looking for a go-to comfort movie. It reimagines the Australian rom-com "Five Blind Dates" with a British twist, following a gifted but struggling photographer, Pia (Simone Ashley), who is facing pressure from her parents to settle down.

With her sister's wedding on the horizon, their meddling matchmaking goes into overdrive just as she's fighting to keep her small photography studio with her best friend and business partner, Jay (Luke Fetherston), from going under. Just as she's at her wits' end, a fortune teller predicts that true love and career success await her in the next five dates. Cue a whirlwind of blind dates — each more chaotic than the last — as she's forced to confront her hesitation and baggage from past relationships to find "the one."

With how often mainstream LGBTQ+ stories lean into tragedy and doomed romance, queer rom-coms are still a rarity. And "Red, White, & Royal Blue" is easily one of the best out there. Based on Casey McQuiston’s best-selling novel of the same name, it's a classic enemies-to-lovers tale with a dash of forbidden romance.

The U.S. president’s son Alex (Taylor Zakhar Perez) and Prince Henry (Nicholas Galitzine) have a lot in common: dashing good looks, tons of admirers, and a total disdain for each other. Their long-running feud comes to blows at a royal event, becoming tabloid fodder that drives a wedge between their country's relations at the worst possible time. They're forced to stage a truce as damage control, but over time, their fake friendship becomes very real — and escalates into something more.

Who doesn't love a mom-com? This May-December romance follows 40-year-old single mom Solène (Anne Hathaway), who forms an unlikely yet undeniable connection with Hayes (Nicholas Galitzine), the star of her daughter's favorite boy band, after chaperoning her at Coachella.

Beyond their age gap, though, they come from two different worlds, and it's not long before Hayes’ celebrity status soon threatens to upend their relationship. More than just a standard rom-com, "The Idea of You" shines a spotlight on the unique pressures of dating someone in the public eye while also celebrating the idea that there's no age limit on whirlwind romance and heartache.

Marking the directorial debut of comedian and former Vine star Rudy Mancuso (who also wrote and stars in the film), "Música" is a semi-autobiographical coming-of-age story about an aspiring artist living with synesthesia, a phenomenon where a stimulus activates more than one sense, turning sounds into colors, for example.

A recent college graduate stuck living at home with his overbearing mom, Rudy struggles to make a living off tips performing his musical puppet show on the subway. His offbeat passion puts him at odds with his girlfriend Haley (Francesca Reale), who dreams of living a life together in a pricy Manhattan loft. In surreal yet lighthearted moments, Rudy speaks with his outspoken puppet alter ego, Diego, who isn’t shy about calling out some hard truths about his aimlessness and tangled love life.
