Top streaming picks: Prime Video movies

Prime Video just added 51 new movies to kick off March 2026. That's a lot to sort through on the streaming service. It might even be enough to distract you from buying everything from laptops to Whole Foods groceries with your Amazon Prime subscription, something Amazon probably didn't consider when it added a ton of great movies.

So, without further delay, let's dive into the five newly added to Prime Video movies that I think you need to be streaming right now.

5 Prime Video movies to stream right now

'Hail, Caesar!' (2016)

Genre: Mystery comedy

What's it about? A fictional story about real-life Hollywood fixer Eddie Mannix (Josh Brolin). He's the best of the best, but his toughest challenge comes when star Baird Whitlock (George Clooney) disappears from the filming of Capitol Pictures' upcoming biblical epic.

Why you should watch it: This cast is as excellent as it is deep. Channing Tatum puts on an incredible performance as Burt, who is the closest thing "Hail, Caesar!" has to a villain, and he's arguably the 10th most talented actor on the call sheet. If you love a Coen Brothers comedy, this one is among their best.

'Hitch' (2005)

Watch On

Genre: Romantic comedy

What's it about? Hitch (Will Smith) is a professional matchmaker who specialises in teaching men not to blow it on dates with women. He only wins if the relationship goes the distance. But his world is turned upside down when he meets Sara (Eva Mendes) while on the job, and finds she's totally immune to his charms.

Why you should watch it: This movie doesn't reinvent the rom-com, but it ticks all the boxes of a good one. It's fun, it's funny; its leads have plenty of chemistry and you can buy that they'd get together. If you love a good rom-com or just want something on while you chill out, "Hitch" is worth a watch.

'Raging Bull' (1980)

Watch On

Genre: Sports biographical drama

What's it about? This Martin Scorsese sports biopic stars Robert De Niro as former middleweight boxing champion of the world, Jake LaMotta. It begins with LaMotta's early career in the 1940s, and continues on through his post-boxing career fall from grace, ending with him picking himself back up again as an entertainer.

Why you should watch it: "Raging Bull" was the first Scorsese movie to earn De Niro an Oscar, and once you watch it, you'll understand why. It's a dark portrait of a complicated, rage-filled man and De Niro, a complicated man known at the time for his own bouts of anger, knocks it out of the park.

'Superbad' (2007)

Genre: Coming-of-age comedy

What's it about? Seth (Jonah Hill) and Evan (Michael Cera) are excited for one last party before college. The reason for their excitement? Their respective crushes, Jules (Emma Stone) and Becca (Martha MacIssac), are there and might be in the mood to hook up. But things go horribly wrong when their friend Fogell (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) tries to buy alcohol using a fake ID with just one name: McLovin.

Why you should watch it: "Superbad" is hilarious from the moment it starts, and it never stops. Decades after it's release, it still holds up as one of the best coming-of-age comedies, alongside greats like "Dazed and Confused" and "The Breakfast Club."

'The Great Escape' (1963)

THE GREAT ESCAPE (1963) | Official Trailer | MGM - YouTube THE GREAT ESCAPE (1963) | Official Trailer | MGM - YouTube
Watch On

Genre: Epic war adventure

What's it about? Starring Steve McQueen alongside a host of Hollywood talent, "The Great Escape" retells a (majorly) fictionalized version of the real mass escape of British Commonwealth prisoners of war from Nazi German POW camp Stalag Luft III.

Why you should watch it: This movie is on the list of films everyone should see at least once. Setting aside the historical accuracy, the cast of this movie is worth the price of admission alone. But there are also incredible moments of tension that pay off spectacularly, and one very iconic motorcycle stunt.
