Paramount+ might not be the biggest streaming service in the game, but that doesn't mean thriller fans should overlook it. Like Netflix, Prime Video, and all the best streaming services, Paramount Plus boasts a solid selection of must-see movies, and that library includes an array of thrillers that'll liven up any movie night.

Whether it's fast-paced action or a more methodical watch that you're after, there's plenty to enjoy on Paramount's platform, and if you're just looking for some quick Paramount+ recommendations, I've got you covered.

What can you really say about "No Country for Old Men" that hasn't already been said? Even if you haven't seen it before, you've no doubt heard of Joel and Ethan Coen's masterful adaptation of the titular Cormac McCarthy novel, because this Best Picture winner really is that good.

After stumbling on the grisly aftermath of a drug deal gone wrong, hunter Llewelyn Moss (Josh Brolin) decides to take the cash that's been left behind. Ruthless hitman Anton Chigurh (a terrifying turn from Javier Bardem) is hired to track the missing cash down, and as the merciless killer pursues Moss, the body count starts to rise, and aging lawman, Sheriff Ed Tom Bell (Tommy Lee Jones) tries to investigate the crimes on his turf. "No Country for Old Men" is violent, relentless, and thoroughly compelling, and well worth streaming.

'The Running Man' (2025)

Here's a relatively recent addition to Paramount+'s lineup: Edgar Wright's remake of "The Running Man."

This near, grittier take on the Stephen King story sees Glen Powell taking over from Arnold Schwarzenegger as Ben Richards, the incredibly angry contestant involved in a hugely popular, deadly game show. Desperate to bag some cash to save his sick daughter, and at the behest of the show's ruthless producer (Josh Brolin), he puts his life on the line evading a team of professional assassins in "The Running Man" TV show. Ben's tenacity sends ratings sky-high and makes him a threat to the entire system.

It may not have been well-loved by critics, but this new "The Running Man" does offer plenty of action and thrills en route to a muddled ending. Plus, it's been a bit hit with Paramount+ subscribers since it arrived on the streamer earlier this month. Thus, I think it belongs on the list as a timely pick.

'Zodiac' (2007)

David Fincher's "Zodiac" remains one of the best crime thrillers I've ever streamed. Across a near-epic runtime, this suspenseful watch recounts the search for the infamous Zodiac killer who terrorized San Francisco during the 60s and 70s.

It's based on the Robert Graysmith books about the real killer and throws us in with the investigators (Mark Ruffalo, Anthony Edwards) and reporters (Jake Gyllenhaal, Robert Downey Jr.) trying to unmask a killer that was never identified, all while the perpetrator continues to taunt the authorities with cryptic messages and phone calls. "Zodiac" is an obsessive, intense thriller, one that eschews crime thriller action and instead focuses on the procedural work, and the movie's focus on its characters and dialogue makes this a truly captivating two-and-a-half-hour affair.
