The AirPods Pro 3 have only been available to buy for the last three days, but you can already save some money when you buy a new pair. The AirPods Pro 3 are now $239, down from $249, at Amazon.
That might not be the biggest deal we've seen on a pair of earbuds, but it's still a saving over the Apple Store price. You won't be able to get the case engraved with your favorite emoji, though, if that's what you really want.
While not a massive saving, it's nice that we've got it so close to launch. The AirPods Pro 3 are a big upgrade over the old model, with a new, more secure fit and 2 hours more battery life. The ANC is some of the best around as well, all while being significantly cheaper than the competition.
The AirPods Pro 3 are a major upgrade to the AirPods Pro 2. For one, the noise canceling has been further improved, bringing them closer in line with the competition. That means that Sony and Bose should look out — Apple has re-joined the ANC conversation. I've had colleagues tell me their new AirPods block out more noise than anything else they've ever used — high praise indeed.
Sound has also seen improvement. Apple says that there's increased detail and bass response, as well as a more impressive soundstage. We've heard both of those improvements during our listening. They might even be the best-sounding earbuds for the price.
The biggest improvement overall, however, is the battery life. Where AirPods Pro 2 only lasted for six hours on a charge, the AirPods Pro 3 last for eight. That's more than the Sony and Bose options. Turn ANC to transparency, and you'll get 10 hours of staying power — not shabby at all.
There are some new features hiding in the buds as well. There's now a heart rate monitor in there to help record fitness metrics. It's not at the top of my "feature needs" list, but it might well be somewhere on yours. There's also the Live Translation feature, so that you can have conversations with people speaking other languages.
They comfortably rank among the best wireless earbuds that you can buy right now, thanks to their sound, ANC, and battery life improvements. This $10 saving is just icing on the cake.
