The Garmin Forerunner 970 is my favorite sports watch and it just hit its lowest ever price for Black Friday

I’ve been tracking the price of Garmin watches keenly throughout the Black Friday sales this year, and there have been some incredible deals available for a couple of weeks, especially on older watches like the Forerunner 265.

However, one watch that hadn’t hit the sales, at least until this week, was the Garmin Forerunner 970. In my opinion this is the best sports watch available, so I’ve been checking it daily to see if any discounts crop up.

Garmin Forerunner 970: was $749 now $649 at Amazon

My favorite sports watch is available in the sales at last, with this discount bringing it down to its lowest price yet. For $649 you’re getting a lightweight, durable sports watch that’s perfect for runners and triathletes in particular. The Forerunner 970 also has a built-in flashlight, a bright AMOLED display and excellent navigation features including offline maps.

The Garmin Forerunner 970 is the watch I use myself as a marathoner, with the main reason I favor it over the Garmin Fenix 8 and Garmin Fenix 8 Pro being the fact the 970 is lighter and slimmer.

This is down to the fact it has a mostly plastic case, but there is a titanium bezel on the watch, and it has a sapphire crystal display, so I have no concerns about durability. It also has a built-in flashlight, and every key feature you get on the Fenix, aside from the LTE and satellite connectivity on the Fenix 8 Pro.

I wasn’t sure if there would be any deals on the Forerunner 970 this year because it is such a new watch and has rave reviews from all-comers since it launched, so getting it for $100 off is one of the standout savings available this Black Friday.
