Running watches are getting more and more expensive, with Garmin guilty of the biggest price rises in recent years on devices like the Fenix and top Forerunner models.

You don’t have to spend a fortune to get a great running watch though, with models like the Suunto Run and Coros Pace 3 offering brilliant features for runners at a lower price.

Right now the Suunto Run is cheaper than ever thanks to a big discount that has stuck around since the Prime Day sale in early October. You can get the Suunto Run for $199 at Amazon, a saving of $50 on what is already a great value watch.

All four colors of the Suunto Run are available in the sale, which reduces the watch to its lowest ever price. You also get a choice of a nylon or silicone band — I’d go for the nylon one, because it makes the watch lighter and more comfortable. You won’t find a better AMOLED sports watch for this price, and the Suunto Run is great for new and experienced runners alike.

I gave the Suunto Run a 4.5-star review when it launched earlier this year because of the value it offers runners. It’s a feature-packed AMOLED watch with a lightweight design that undercuts the best running watches from Garmin, Polar and Coros.

It’s comfortable to wear 24/7 and even with the screen always-on and running every day, it lasted me three to four days on a charge, which is impressive for such a small watch.

All the stats runners need are available, plus detailed training analysis, and the Suunto Run offers highly accurate multi-band GPS tracking, a feature that used to be the preserve of more expensive watches. I also found its heart rate tracking to be accurate in my testing, and it’s the first Suunto watch to offer music storage.

Suunto’s user interface isn’t as polished as Garmin’s, and you can get longer battery life from the Coros Pace 3, which has a memory-in-pixel display, but you can’t beat the value of the Suunto Run, especially with this discount.
