I’ve been testing Kiprun running shoes ahead of their US launch — here are 3 great sneakers to get excited about

As a running shoe reviewer who lives in the U.K., I’ve been testing Kiprun sneakers for many years, and it’s always been a frustration that I haven’t been able to recommend them to people based in the U.S., where they haven’t been available.

That’s about the change, because Kiprun is launching several of its best running shoes Stateside this April, including three shoes I rate among my favorites of 2026 so far.

Kiprun has long been known for making great value durable running shoes, but until the past few months, those sneakers haven’t quite met the performance standards of the absolute best available.

While not every Kiprun shoe is a winner — I don’t think the Kiprun Kipstorm Elite matches the best carbon plate running shoes, for example — there are several shoes in the line-up that are among the top options in their category.

That means it’s well worth knowing about Kiprun ahead of the U.S. launch if you’re a keen runner, but there is a catch — for whatever reason, Kiprun’s shoes aren’t quite as cheap in the U.S. as they are this side of the pond.

Kiprun Kipstorm Tempo

The Kipstorm Tempo is a max-stack super-trainer in the mould of shoes like the Asics Megablast, and delivers a similar level of performance to those shoes but without the outrageously high price tag.

It’s excellent value in the UK, where it’s often half the price of shoes like the Asics Superblast 3, and in the U.S., it’s competitively priced at $170, given the quality of the Tempo.

I’ve used the Kipstorm Tempo for all kinds of runs, including a 15-mile long run, a couple of tempo runs, and a hard interval workout, and it’s impressed me every time. It’s one of the most versatile new shoes of 2026.

Kiprun Kipride Max

The Kipride Max is a max-cushioned daily trainer that offers a lot of comfort for your easy and long runs in particular.

It uses a blend of foams in its midsole to create a ride that I found surprisingly energetic and comfortable, and the shoe's mild rocker helps you roll through on your toes with each stride.

For such a cushioned shoe, it’s a little more fun and effective at fast paces than you might expect, and I like the Kipride Max more than many very popular cushioned shoes like the Asics Gel-Nimbus 28.

It’s also a little cheaper than my favorite shoe in this category — the Nike Vomero Plus — so the Kipride Max is worth looking at if you’re craving some comfort on the run.

The Kipsummit Max is another highly-cushioned option from Kiprun, but this time it’s a shoe built for the trails, with a thick Vibram Megagrip outsole offering reliable grip on all kinds of terrain.

It’s billed as a shoe that can handle long ultramarathons on mountainous terrain, which no doubt it can, but as someone based in north London, I’ve been testing it as a comfortable daily trainer that can handle mud as well as firmer trails, and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it for that job.

The aliphatic TPU foam in the midsole delivers both comfort and bounce, and the rockered design of the shoe means the miles tick by smoothly, no matter how far you’re running.
