3 Black Friday running shoe deals I’d shop now — these top sneakers are under $100

Running shoes get more and more expensive each year, but there are a couple of golden rules you can follow to ensure you’re getting good value when buying new sneakers. The first is to shop during a big sale period like Black Friday, and the second is to look at the previous model of popular shoes.

Sometimes brands make a big update to a running shoe and the new version is substantially better, but most of the time they make minimal changes, so grabbing the older model is definitely the smart move.

I’ve scoured the Black Friday sales and found three great running shoes I’ve tested that have all dropped below $100 and offer better value than the latest models in their lines.

Puma Velocity Nitro 3

Puma Velocity Nitro 3 : was $135 now $89 at Amazon

The Velocity Nitro 4 is one of my favorite new shoes of 2025, but that doesn’t make it a better pick than the Velocity Nitro 3 when the older model is reduced to $89 in the sales. This is a great, lightweight daily trainer that has a comfortable but lively ride. The Velocity Nitro 3 also offers impressive grip and is perfect for winter runs on wet and slushy sidewalks.

Brooks Ghost 16

Brooks Ghost 16: was $140 now $89 at Amazon

The Brooks Ghost is one of the most popular running shoe lines out there, and as a result Brooks is very careful with how it updates the shoe each year. That usually means minimal changes, and the Ghost 16 is every bit as good as the newer Ghost 17 in my opinion, so you can swoop in on this $51 saving without fear that you’re missing out by getting the older model.

Saucony Hurricane 24

Saucony Hurricane 24: was $160 now $99 at Amazon

The Hurricane 24 was a surprise hit for me when it came out in 2024, because I don’t normally love max-cushioned stability shoes like this. It won me over thanks to its smooth and exceptionally comfortable and supportive ride, and it’s perfect for both neutral runners and those who overpronate. The Hurricane 25 has since come out and is a very similar shoe, so I’d certainly grab the Hurricane 24 instead thanks to this huge saving,
