You can save big on hiking boots for Black Friday — I've found the 11 best deals on Merrell, Columbia, and Keen from just $69
Everything from lightweight, sporty hiking shoes to sturdy, waterproof boots
Hiking boots are expensive, so it's fantastic that most of the big brands drop their prices for Black Friday. You can grab awesome deals like the iconic Merrell Moab 3 Mid Hiking Boots (men) for $118 at Amazon, down from $170.
Annoyingly, Amazon's prices seem to change with sizes, so I've included some REI deals from the outlet's winter sale. REI's prices are much more consistent. For example, the Merrell Moab 3 Mid Boots are discounted to just $126 at REI in one color, but the price is the same no matter which size you choose. Much more logical — I'm not sure what's going on with Amazon's pricing.
Anyway, that's why I'm here. I'm going to walk you through all the best Black Friday deals on hiking boots, including Merrell, Columbia, and Keen, my three most highly recommended hiking brands. I test hiking boots for a living, and I wear my Keen Jasper Zionics every day, so I can help you find the right shoes for you.

The best Black Friday deals on hiking boots: About the author

Hi! I'm Erin, and I'm an avid hiker, on top of being a professional hiking shoe reviewer (yes, it's a real job). I've hiked tons of mountains, including Mount Fuji in Japan, Hallasan in South Korea, and Snowdon in Wales. When I lived in South Korea, I went hiking every single weekend in my Merrell Accentor boots!

For some reason, the women's style of the Merrell Accentor 3 hiking shoe is on sale for even cheaper — just $74 — at REI, so I'd recommend buying here instead. As with the men's style, the Accentor 3 has great arch support and is a perfect lightweight hiking shoe for rapid dashes down the trail.

The Merrell Accentor range has great arch support, and the Accentor 3 hiking shoes are no different. With an extra foam footbed (removable, too!) these shoes are sure to suit most hikers. I have the Accentor boots, and I love them.

I'm wearing these shoes as I write this! I love my Keen Jasper Zionics — so much that I've worn them every day for two months straight. On top of being mighty comfortable thanks to the arch support, heel support, and soft, breathable leather upper, the Jasper Zionics have 4mm rubber lugs, which make them ultra-grippy and ideal for slippy surfaces. Although they're not technically waterproof, I wore them on wet hikes and my feet never got soaked.
Price check: $111 at REI.

The Merrell Moab 3 Mid Waterproof are famous hiking boots for a reason. On top of being completely waterproof, the Moab 3 also feature custom-made Vibram soles and supported, shock-absorbing heel cushioning. I'd recommend these boots for the serious hiker who wants a reliable, stylish boot.

I recommend purchasing the women's style of the Merrell Moab 3 Mid Waterproof hiking boots from REI over Amazon, as the Amazon listing shows a third-party seller, which are a touch more risk-prone.
The Merrell Moab 3 Mid Waterproof feature a shock-absorbing heel cushion, Vibram-made sole, and waterproofing, for regular hikers who take comfort and style just as seriously.

The Targhee IV boots are like the upgraded version of the Targhee IV shoes I mentioned earlier. These boots are ideal for more treacherous hikes thanks to the 4mm rubber lugs on the sole and the waterproof materials. The boots have ankle support too, so I'd recommend them for anyone who requires extra cushioning on their ankles.
Price check: $134 at REI.
