The South Africa vs Sri Lanka live stream features two sides who still have a slim chance of reaching the T20 World Cup 2021 semi-finals — but only if they win here.
Both go into the game with one win from two games, having each lost to Australia but beaten weaker opposition in the form of West Indies (South Africa) and Bangladesh (Sri Lanka). Victory here would keep them in the tournament, although they'd probably still need to beat England to make it through. But a defeat will likely end any real chance they have of reaching the last four.
And this one is a really tough game to call. Sri Lanka coasted through the first round, albeit against limited opposition. They also made a decent total of 154 against Australia. although the Aussies eventually chased it down with three overs to go.
Charith Asalanka still has the tournament's highest individual score of 80, and the excellent Wanindu Hasaranga looks like a class bowler. Their world ranking of 9 may be low these days, but this is a side that's rebuilding quickly and they could still spring a surprise.
South Africa, on the other hand, haven't played a lot recently so their form is hard to judge. They'll certainly be glad Quinton de Kock will be back for this game, after he missed the victory over the Windies having refused to take the knee before the game. The big-hitting Aiden Markram is another batsman to keep an eye on; he made 51 off just 26 balls in that last game. It really could go either way.
South Africa have won the toss and will bowl. Here's how they line up:
South Africa: 1 Temba Bavuma (c), 2 Quinton de Kock (wk) 3 Reeza Hendricks, 4 Aiden Markam, 5 Rassie van der Dussen, 6 David Miller, 7 Dwaine Pretorius, 8 Kagiso Rabada, 9 Keshav Maharaj, 10 Anrich Nortje, 11 Tabraiz Shamsi
Sri Lanka: 1 Pathum Nissanka, 2 Kusal Perera (wk), 3 Charith Asalanka, 4 Avishka Fernando, 5 Bhanuka Rajapaksa, 6 Dasun Shanaka (c), 7 Chamika Karunaratne, 8 Wanindu Hasaranga, 9 Dushmantha Chameera, 10 Maheesh Theekshana 11 Lahiru Kumara
