LG’s B5 OLED finally got its first major price cut — and it knocks $800 off my favorite 2025 TV

LG has carved a space for itself in the OLED market with many incredible budget TVs built to deliver exceptional value at a minimal premium. While we tend to heap praise on the C-Series OLEDs, the B-Series is just as good, offering slightly fewer features with just the right amount of performance.

That's why I recommend this year's B5 OLED over many of its counterparts. Right now, the 65-inch LG B5 OLED is just $1,199 at Best Buy. That chops a whopping $800 off one of the cheapest OLED TVs on the market. Despite its price, the B5 is still loaded with tons of gaming features, making it a surefire win if you're looking for a new display at a great price.

Looking for an incredible OLED picture without the high price? The LG B5 is the perfect companion. It's not as bright as higher-end OLED TVs, but you still get to bask in the glory of OLED display technology. Perfect black levels and ultra-wide viewing angles will make everything, from movies to sports, look fantastic. Dedicated gamers will appreciate the B5's array of sought-after features, which includes four HDMI 2.1 inputs, support for 4K gaming at 120Hz, VRR, and FreeSync.

The LG B5 OLED might sit at the bottom rung of the LG OLED lineup, but don't let that fool you. It still packs a punch, offering incredible picture quality with enhanced colors thanks to its WOLED panel.

I'm a big fan of the C5 OLED, but given that it uses the same panel as the B5, you can rest easy, saving a bit of money and going with the cheaper option. You might sacrifice higher brightness metrics, but overall picture performance will still be incredible.

However, one thing you might want to consider if you're a PC gamer is that the B5 only has a 120Hz refresh rate. If you're more accustomed to console gaming with a PS5 or Xbox Series X, the B5 should be more than ideal, as it offers VRR support and a dedicated gaming menu.

You also have access to webOS, which gives you a slew of free content and many of the best streaming services. Even if you don't have a gaming console, you can dive into one of the many cloud gaming platforms available through webOS, including Xbox Game Pass, GeForce Now, Luna, and more.

With the horror marathons in full swing as Halloween approaches, nabbing one of the best OLED TVs is a solid choice. Horror movies, like "Sinners," "Event Horizon," and "Weapons," are largely fueled by their dark, brooding atmospheres, which is why you'll want a display that can handle those inky blacks and shadows with ease.

The B5 OLED is also well-equipped with Dolby Vision support, so you won't have to fear when itching for the most realistic seat in the house for all those spooky movie nights. However, I do recommend pairing the B5 OLED with one of the best soundbars for an amplified audio experience.
