You don't become a two-time Olympic Gold Medalist overnight... but what you do overnight might make you a two-time Olympic Gold medalist. And that’s coming from Matt Weston, double Olympic Skeleton champion, and Dreams is celebrating his victory with savings on the athlete-approved Dream Team mattress range.
“Winning two gold medals has been absolutely incredible,” says Weston. “It still feels so surreal and I am so proud of what I have achieved and everything it has taken to get here. But what people don’t always see is the recovery that makes it possible."
“Sleep has always been a non-negotiable part of my preparation but after such a special high, it’s just as important to slow everything down and reset properly — recovery doesn’t stop now, if anything, it becomes even more important.”
A good night's sleep starts with the best mattress for you and you don't need to be flying face first down a Skeleton track to feel the benefits. So we asked Weston for sleep recovery tips, if Milano Cortina 2026 had inspired you to get active (or just to watch more winter sports.)
Crafted with Thermoregulating DreamTex Foam and an 'ultra cool' knitted cover, the Evesham promises to keep you at the optimum temperature all-night long, for deeper, more restorative sleep. Microsprings deliver adaptive comfort (they cradle every part of the body), for a luxury finish. A double is £1,299 but you can save 10% with GOLD10, dropping the price to $1,169.10. All Dream Team mattresses come with a 100-night trial and one-year guarantee.

'It’s pivotal for me to have this extra time to calm myself down and unwind'
"It doesn’t matter if you eat amazing, you’ve got a private chef, you train as hard as you can, if you don’t sleep well, it’s almost not worth doing all of the other things because sleep is the main thing for recovery,” says Weston.
“Recovery is the main reason why sleep is so important."
But getting good sleep can be pretty difficult after a day of hurtling down an icy track, as Skeleton racers do. Just the thought of it is enough to have me up all night.
"If I got home, showered and jumped straight into bed, I’d still be wide awake," says Weston. "So, it’s pivotal for me to have this extra time to calm myself down and unwind.”
For Weston, a proper bedtime routine is important even on competition day — so we can assume a good night's sleep was imperative before claiming gold in both the individual and team Skeleton.
“When I’m racing at 6-7pm at night, I need to be pumped up and ready to go," he says. "When I get home, even if it’s late, I’ll take an extra 30-45 minutes to deliberately wind myself down."
Among his preferred relaxing hobbies are; "meditation, going for a walk or speaking to people back at home." (And now, probably, polishing his medals.)
He also advises keeping your sleep space just that: a space for sleep.
“I’m not somebody who chills in my bed; I keep it very much as my sleep area," he says.
And even with two gold medals in the bag, Weston doesn't plan on letting his sleep slip.
“I’ll keep protecting my sleep the same way I always have because it’s been key to my performance and longevity," says Weston. "The medal might be coming home with me, but my focus is on making sure I’m rested, recovered and ready for what’s next!"
French Alps 2030, anyone?
The rest of the dream team
"Having the right set-up and the best possible mattress for me, alongside my consistent routine gives me the strongest foundation to perform when it matters most,” says Weston. Let's meet the rest of the line-up...
The most affordable mattress in the Dream Team line-up, a double is only £699 (was £999). The Chippenham features cooling tech and adaptive springs for recovery-aiding comfort and the Ultra Firm feel means it's likely to suit back and stomach sleepers (side sleepers, upgrade to the Evesham)

The gold medallist of the Dream Team mattress line-up, the Crowborough features a double layer of microsprings and a luxurious 35cm build (plus a free bedding bundle.) The medium finish means we suspect this bed is a dream for side sleepers. You'll pay a premium price for the mattress that sits at the top of the Dream Team podium but we predict an indulgent feel and right now a double is down to just $1,499 (was $1,999.)
