This weekend marks the end of January and the beginning of February. Lucky for you, you can spend the weekend celebrating the flip of the calendar with a movie marathon or binge-watch session (or both!) A ton of new shows and movies just hit the best streaming services this week, with a few more coming on Feb. 1.
This weekend’s TV picks feature some big names. "Wonder Man" is a brand new series from the MCU, "Bridgerton" is back for part 1 of season 4 and "Shrinking" just had its season 3 premiere. Plus, new episodes of "Industry" and "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" arrive on HBO and HBO Max this Sunday, and those shows are a must-watch.

New TV shows
'Wonder Man' (Disney+)
Genre: Marvel superhero

What's it about? Simon Williams (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) is a struggling actor with a troubling secret. But his life starts to turn around when he meets Trevor Slattery (Ben Kingsley), a veteran actor who becomes Simon's mentor, helping him land the role of Wonder Man.
Why you should watch it: While "Wonder Man" is a superhero show, its "Marvelness" is almost an afterthought. In my "Wonder Man" review, I loved that this story of friendship and betrayal works with or without its superhero skin, and came away impressed with the MCU's latest offering.

'Bridgerton' season 4 part 1 (Netflix)
Genre: Historical romance drama
Release date: Out now
What's it about? "Bridgerton" is an alternate history romance drama set in the Regency era of British history. It's centered around the Bridgerton family, with each season focusing on a specific member of the family. This season, it's Benedict's (Luke Thompson) turn to navigate British high society and fall in love, but it's the mysterious Lady in Silver (Yerin Ha) who steals the show.
Why you should watch it: If you like romance dramas, period pieces or both, then "Bridgerton" has something for you. Don't feel intimidated by it being in season 4, either. The seasons aren't particularly long, and it's a very easily digestible show.

'Shrinking' season 3 premiere (Apple TV)
Genre: Comedy-drama
Release date: Out now
What's it about? Jimmy (Jason Segel) is a therapist who just lost his wife at the start of season 1. His grieving process gets him into trouble, though, as he starts telling patients things that, ethically, he really shouldn't. In season 3, he's still doing that, though he's finally starting to heal and even date.
Why you should watch it: While it deals with some serious subject matter, "Shrinking" is a hangout comedy at its core, and it's loaded with talented actors. The fact that we get Harrison Ford as a crotchety old therapist in a TV show is something to be cherished.

'Industry' episode 404 (HBO/HBO Max)
Genre: Drama
Release date: Feb. 1 at 9 p.m. ET
What's it about? "Industry" is all about the world of finance. Specifically, British finance. Set in London, this show follows Harper (Myha'la) and Yas (Marisa Abela), and those around them, as they both strive to dominate and get the power (and respect) they think they deserve.
Why you should watch it: This is one of the best shows on TV right now, and has been for years. Season 4 has already started on an absolute heater, and Rotten Tomatoes currently has it rated 96% "fresh." A warning, though, this show is definitely NSFW.

'A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms' episode 103 (HBO/HBO Max)
Genre: Fantasy drama
Release date: Feb. 1 at 10 p.m. ET
What's it about? The latest "Game of Thrones" spin-off, "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms," focuses on Ser Duncan the Tall, aka Dunk, a hedge knight who has arrived at a tourney to try and change his fortunes. But so far, all he's managed to do is find Egg, a young boy who wants to be Dunk's squire.
Why you should watch it: This is not the "Game of Thrones" you're used to. This show is just six, 30(ish)-minute long episodes and it's set entirely within the confines of a single tournament. There's not much in the way of sex, but we're starting to get more of the palace intrigue and talking in rooms that made the early seasons of "Game of Thrones" great.

'The Wrecking Crew' (Prime Video)
Genre: Action comedy

What's it about? When the Hale brothers (Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista) discover their estranged father was killed in a hit-and-run, they set aside their differences to get to the bottom of a deadly conspiracy.
Why you should watch it: If you like 1980s buddy cop movies, then this is the movie for you. It's fun, it's funny and there are some great action set pieces and gruesome kills. It's not perfect, but you'll have a good time.

'If I Had Legs I'd Kick You' (HBO Max)
Genre: Psychological comedy drama

What's it about? Rose Byrne stars as Linda, a psychotherapist who is having a rough time. Her daughter is chronically ill, and in the hospital, her husband (Christian Slater) is on a weeks-long work trip and she's struggling to handle it all.
Why you should watch it: This movie has been critically acclaimed in general, but the reason to watch it is Byrne. Her performance is what drives the movie, and she just got nominated for Best Actress at this year's Oscars after winning at the Golden Globes.

'Anaconda' (2025)
Genre: Action comedy

What's it about? Griff (Paul Rudd) is a struggling actor who returns home for his childhood friend Doug's (Jack Black) birthday. While there, he reveals he got the rights to remake the 1997 action horror movie "Anaconda." So they and a few friends head to the Amazon to film their indie reboot ... and it all goes horribly, hilariously wrong.
Why you should watch it: In my review of "Anaconda" (2025), I mention this movie's shortcomings. It's a meta reboot that sometimes pokes too much fun at itself for its own good. But other times, it makes you laugh so hard you'll cry, and I had a blast watching it in theaters last year.

'Zootopia 2' (PVOD)
Genre: Animated comedy

What's it about? Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Nick Wilde (Jason Bateman) are back, and officially partners at the Zootopia Police Department. They're having some work troubles, but things go from bad to worse when they're framed for a crime. Now, they have to clear their names.
Why you should watch it: If you're looking for something the whole family can enjoy, loved watching "Zootopia," are a Disney completionist or want to watch one of the biggest movies ever made, then "Zootopia 2" is a must-watch for you.
