If you’ve been counting down the days to the next adventure with Judy and Nick, you’re probably already wondering when you’ll be able to stream it Movie tickets can get pricey, especially when you take the whole family. Which leads us to an important question: When can you watch "Zootopia 2" at home?
That's something we don't have a concrete answer for just yet, but we can wager an educated guess. Here's when you might be able to stream "Zootopia 2."
When can we expect the 'Zootopia 2' streaming release?
"Zootopia 2" is still playing in theaters right now after its debut in theaters on Nov. 26. Disney hasn’t announced a digital release date or a streaming date just yet. Still, we can make a solid estimate based on how the studio handles its animated films. With that in mind, the good news is that the wait shouldn’t be too long.
Disney usually makes its animated movies available to buy or rent digitally about 45 to 70 days after they premiere in theaters. Movies like "Inside Out 2," "Wish" and "Elemental" followed that pattern closely. If "Zootopia 2" sticks to the same track, you can expect it to become available via premium video-on-demand on platforms like Amazon and Apple in late January or early February. Physical media like 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD should follow a few weeks later.
When it comes to streaming on Disney Plus, that window is also pretty predictable. Disney generally brings its animated films to the streaming service three to four months after the theatrical release. For a major sequel like "Zootopia 2," that likely puts its Disney Plus debut in late February or early March.
What is 'Zootopia 2' about?
"Zootopia 2" is a direct sequel to "Zootopia" that picks up a couple of weeks after the first movie. Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde are fully settled into their roles as partners on the ZPD force.
