December is here, and whether you're looking for a genre-bending story from a master of horror or a celebration of one man's life in reverse, this month is packed with major new releases. Oh, and the holiday season, natch.

Kicking things off just before we ring in 2026 on Dec. 23 is "Strange Harvest," featuring a hunt for a serial killer whose return marks the beginning of seriously otherworldly crimes tied to ancient cosmic forces. Dare we say Lovecraftian, even? Then, arriving on Christmas Eve (Dec. 24), you can dive into the period thriller "Made in Korea." Set in 1970s South Korea, it follows a man who is a KCIA agent by day and a businessman by night.
Finally, on Dec. 26 is "The Life of Chuck," a genre-bending tale from Stephen King and director Mike Flanagan that celebrates the life of an ordinary man whose death seemingly coincides with the end of the universe. Not sure exactly where you should start watching? Below, we've rounded up these three top picks, plus the full list for everything new on Hulu this December 2025.
New on Hulu in December 2025: Top picks
'Strange Harvest'
In this mockumentary, Detectives Joe Kirby (Peter Zizzo) and Lexi Taylor (Terri Apple) find themselves on the hunt for "Mr. Shiny," a sadistic serial killer whose reappearance marks the beginning of a new wave of crimes in Southern California. The investigation starts as a standard cold case but eventually reveals that the killer's ritualistic practices are tied to some sort of cosmic force — ain't that always the way? If you were left wanting more after the likes of movies like "Longlegs" or dramas like "True Detective," this one might be up your alley.

'Made in Korea'
In 1970s South Korea, one man lives a double life while trying to achieve the pinnacle of wealth and power. By day, he's a high-ranking KCIA agent with a wealth of influence, but by night, he's a ruthless and unstoppable businessman. Things threaten to come to a crashing halt when he finds himself face-to-face with an idealistic prosecutor willing to risk his career and his life to expose the corruption and bring the criminal empire to his knees. All in a day's work.

'The Life of Chuck'
Charles "Chuck" Krantz (Tom Hiddleston) is an accountant who grows up loving to dance, but the tale is told in reverse chronological order. So at the beginning of the movie, we actually see his death. And wouldn't you know it, it inexplicably coincides with the end of the universe. Thus, Chuck's life is a bit of a mystery. That means this film transforms from apocalyptic sci-fi to a musical celebrating the wonder of love, the inevitability of loss, and the life of a man who, well, contained multitudes. This one will have you feeling some type of way, that's for sure.
