Is your idea of a good time defined by corporate rage, blood-soaked rampages, and Steven Yeun having the absolute worst workday imaginable? If so, you’re in the right place. Go ahead and cue up "Mayhem," a high-octane thrill ride that is currently streaming for free on Tubi.
While there is certainly no shortage of action flicks to gravitate toward on the free streamer, this is a personal favorite of mine that I find myself constantly recommending to anyone looking for something a little more off-kilter than your average blockbuster. It’s a movie that swaps generic heroics for something far more visceral and satisfyingly chaotic.

Derek Cho (Steven Yeun) is already having a miserable day when things go from bad to catastrophic. After being framed for a corporate disaster and unceremoniously fired from his law firm, the office building is suddenly locked down under quarantine. A specialized virus is spreading through the vents — one that doesn't turn people into mindless monsters, but instead strips away their self-control.
With all inhibitions removed, the building's occupants give in to their darkest impulses. As you can imagine, this leads to truly horrendous behavior. Trapped inside with a building full of enraged, unfiltered coworkers, Derek teams up with Melanie Cross (Samara Weaving), a former client who has plenty of her own extremely valid reasons for wanting revenge.
What starts as a terrible workday quickly devolves into a violent, floor-by-floor climb through the company’s ranks. Derek and Melanie fight their way toward the executives who ruined their lives, dismantling anyone who stands in their way as they leave a trail of corporate collateral damage in their wake.
Why you should stream 'Mayhem' on Tubi right now
We all love a good revenge fantasy, especially when it’s wrapped in the stylish window dressing of a kinetic action flick. While cinema has no shortage of movies about awful jobs and even worse bosses, "Mayhem" takes the "I quit!" trope to a breathtaking new level.
What makes it work so effectively is that "Mayhem" isn't just interested in chaos for chaos’s sake. There is a familiar, biting sting underneath the violence — the lived-in humiliation of being used, discarded and blamed by the people in power. Derek’s meltdown is obviously exaggerated for genre fun, but there is a deeply recognizable real-life rage that inspires it.
Ultimately, "Mayhem" knows exactly what kind of movie it wants to be. It is mean, funny, fast and gloriously nasty without ever dragging its feet or taking itself too seriously. The satirical elements land because the story is rooted in the genuine disappointment and resentment that simmers in the corporate world every day. By the time the characters are affected by the virus, their meltdowns feel entirely earned.
Almost anyone can relate to this type of bad day, and most of us can think of a reason we’d love to push back against a toxic boss or a soul-crushing workplace. Of course, in the real world, we can't exactly go through our offices with a nail gun. That’s why we have movies like this. "Mayhem" is a gem that has been slept on for too long, and it’s one you won’t soon forget.
