The week is stacked with options for every taste among the new TV shows premiering on Netflix, Prime Video and other streaming services, as well as cable and broadcast channels.
Two very different shows return for their second seasons, though each has a lead in troubled territory. “Landman” returns with Billy Bob Thornton’s Tommy Norris navigating oil empires, family drama and cartel threats. Meanwhile, "Palm Royale" sees Maxine Simmons scheming her way further into Palm Beach high society.
If you're a fan of psychological thrillers, you're in luck. In “The Beast in Me,” Claire Danes stars as a grieving author confronting dark secrets that could revive her career or destroy her. In “Malice,” a male nanny charms his way into a family but soon shows his dark side. Here's our guide on the top new TV shows to check out this week.
So much to watch, so little time! As far as TV shows, I'm currently watching "Poldark" on Netflix (addictive), "The Morning Show" on Apple TV (sigh) and "The Lowdown" on Hulu (a slow burn). Oh, and "Grey's Anatomy" (yes, it's still on).
‘Bat-Fam’ (Prime Video)
A new animated series picks up where “Merry Little Batman” left off, but this time, it’s less “dark knight” and more “dad night.” With Luke Wilson leading the voice cast, “Bat-Fam” mixes superhero action with sitcom heart.
Bruce Wayne, his son Damian (aka Little Batman) and the ever-patient Alfred try to juggle life in Gotham with new houseguests. They include Alfred’s wild grandniece, a reformed villain and Ra’s al Ghul himself as a doting grandpa. Saving Gotham is a piece of cake compared to family dinners with this crew.

‘Palm Royale’ season 2 (Apple TV)
Subtlety is still nowhere to be found in Palm Beach, and the second season of Apple’s period comedy leans all the way in. After her infamous Beach Ball breakdown, Kristen Wiig’s Maxine Dellacorte is now a full-blown pariah, desperate to claw her way back into the society she once nearly conquered. This year, she’s scheming smarter, dressing louder and maybe even committing a light felony or two to get her crown back.
Meanwhile, Evelyn (Allison Janney) and Linda (Laura Dern) are facing their own reckonings as Palm Beach’s secrets, lies and scandals start to unravel in spectacular fashion. The claws are out and the pearls are as tight as nooses.

‘The Beast in Me’ (Netflix)
Claire Danes and Matthew Rhys go head-to-head in this slick new psychological thriller from “Homeland” co-creator Howard Gordon. Danes plays Aggie Wiggs, a once-celebrated author shattered by her son’s death and paralyzed by grief … until she becomes fixated on her mysterious new neighbor, Nile Jarvis (Rhys), a powerful real estate mogul with a missing-wife problem.
What starts as research for a comeback novel soon turns into obsession, as Aggie’s curiosity spirals into compulsion and her hunt for truth exposes something far darker. Turns out, the real beast might live closer to home than she thinks.

‘Malice’ (Prime Video)
This twisty psychological thriller will keep you guessing from sun-drenched Greece to shadowy London. The wealthy Tanner family welcomes in a charming new tutor, Adam (Jack Whitehall), but it doesn’t take long before his true intentions start to surface. Jamie Tanner (David Duchovny) and Nat (Carice van Houten) find themselves drawn into his web of manipulation, and anyone poking into his past courts danger.
Full of secrets, manipulation, and slow-burning suspense, “Malice” asks the question: What happens when the threat comes from inside your own home?

‘Landman’ season 2 (Paramount Plus)
West Texas is still a pressure cooker, and Billy Bob Thornton’s Tommy Norris is in the thick of it. Tommy is juggling his late friend’s oil empire; his friend’s widow and new boss, Cami (Demi Moore); a meddling cartel boss (Andy Garcia); and the looming return of his father (Sam Elliott). Oh, let’s not forget his chaotic ex (Ali Larter) and his ambitious son (Jacob Lofland).
In season 2, Taylor Sheridan’s signature slow-burn storytelling digs deeper into family, power and betrayal. In oil country, survival is brutal and backbreaking; there will be blood.

‘The American Revolution’ (PBS)
This six-part, 12-hour documentary from Ken Burns, Sarah Botstein, David Schmidt, and Geoffrey C. Ward chronicles the war that gave birth to a nation. it follows Continental soldiers, Loyalists, enslaved and free Africans, Native allies and European powers caught in the fight.
Spanning farms, battlefields, and cities from Vermont to South Carolina, the docuseries captures the courage, contradictions and humanity of the Revolutionary generation, and shows how 13 colonies toppled an empire and changed the world forever.
