Prime Video top 10 movies — here’s the 3 worth watching right now
These are the top movies on Prime Video to watch now

Summer is fading fast, but Prime Video is only heating up with great new movies to curl up on the couch to this weekend. When I can't figure out what to watch next, I make a beeline to the streaming service's list of the top 10 most-watched movies. Sure, it cuts through the noise, but how do you separate the movie night hits from the overhyped duds? Because let's be real, not every Prime Video hit is worth your time.
I track the top 10s of streaming services every weekend and can say firsthand that a high ranking doesn't guarantee a film is worth watching. To help you skip the scrolling and get to streaming, I've rounded up the standout picks from Prime Video's current top 10.
Thriller fans are eating good this week with two of this year's most intense films in the top spots, one with more straightforward heart-pounding action and another that throws two silly guys together in an 80s-style buddy action flick. There's also a romantic drama that'll have you wishing summer (and young love) lasted forever. So without further ado, let's dive into the best movies in Prime Video's top 10 that are worth adding to your watchlist. Also be sure to check out the 5 best movies to stream this week across Netflix, Hulu and more.
This article is based on the global Prime Video top 10 list as of Sunday, September 14, 2025.
Best movies in the Prime Video top 10
'A Working Man' (2025)
Adapted from Chuck Dixon’s 2014 novel and co-written for the screen by director David Ayer and Sylvester Stallone, "A Working Man" might just be Jason Statham's Statham-iest film to date. While it doesn't quite have the same charm as last year’s collaboration with Ayer, "The Beekeeper," fans of his gritty, no-nonsense action persona will find plenty to love.
Statham steps into the shoes of Levon Cade, a former Royal Marine Commando now carving a quiet life out for himself. Determined to leave his violent past behind, he focuses instead on proving himself a stable parental figure to gain custody of his daughter. That all goes out the window when human traffickers abduct his boss’s daughter. With the help of his old friend Gunny (David Harbour), Levon plunges back into a ruthless underworld once more to save an innocent life.

'Heads of State' (2025)
If you like high-octane action thrillers with plenty of laughs, don't sleep on "Heads of State" on Prime Video. I missed this new action-comedy movie, starring Idris Elba and John Cena, over the summer, but after binging most of "Peacemaker" and seeing how routinely hilarious Cena can be, I figured I'd give it a shot. And the joke's on me for underestimating this entertaining ride. It's more bromance than "House of Cards," But if you want a carefree, entertaining movie that's pure fun, "Heads of State" is a perfect pick.
Forget reaching for your phone; the non-stop action and laugh-out-loud chemistry between Elba and Cena will hold your attention. Elba plays a former SAS officer turned U.K. Prime Minister, while Cena is a goofy former action star turned U.S. President. The two are forced to team up after a coordinated assassination attempt, leading them on a high-stakes chase where they must rely on each other to survive.

'The Map That Leads to You' (2025)
That's enough with the adrenaline-fueled thrill rides, though. For a breezier watch, "The Map That Leads to You" is a solid, if predictable, romantic drama that'll give you one last sun-drenched taste of summer as we head into the colder months.
Recent college graduate Heather Mulgrew (Madelyn Cline) sets out on a meticulously planned European trip with her friends for one last hurrah before her finance career kicks off in New York. On an overnight train to Barcelona, she meets Jack (KJ Apa), a free-spirited traveler retracing his late grandfather’s steps. Drawn to his carefree nature, Heather’s strict itinerary starts to unravel as she and her friends journey with Jack through Spain, Portugal, and Italy. It's not long before sparks fly between them, but as they get closer, new revelations and tough choices challenge Heather's vision of her future.
