Prime Video top 10 shows — here’s the 3 I’m binge-watching this weekend
The trending Prime Video shows you should be streaming this week

Like all the best streaming services, Prime Video is always bringing us new shows to stream, and the streamer's ever-shifting top 10 list is a perfect reflection of that steady stream of new releases and fresh additions. If you're tempted to use it to find your next watch, you could strike gold... or you could stumble into an unworthy watch.
Simply put, something can be trending on Prime Video and still not be worth your time. That's why we regularly spotlight the three series from Prime Video's top 10 shows list that are most deserving of a spot on your watchlist.
This week, that collection includes a teen drama that arrived at the start of September, an ongoing adrenaline-fuelled action prequel and a brand-new psychological thriller that will definitely keep you glued to your screen.
This article is based on the Prime Video top 10 U.S. shows list as of Friday, September 12, 2025.
Best shows in the Prime Video top 10
'The Girlfriend'
If you're looking for an addictive new thriller, then this adaptation of Michelle Frances' novel of the same name is the Prime Video series that should be on your radar right now.
"The Girlfriend" is a gripping six-parter that revolves around two women: successful art gallery owner and doting mother, Laura (Robin Wright), and her darling son's new girlfriend, Cherry (Olivia Cooke). From the moment she enters their world, alarm bells start to ring for Laura.
After a tense introduction at their family home, Laura suspects Cherry has ulterior motives and might be hiding something. A battle of wits between the two women ensues as Laura seeks to prove her theory. Expect juicy drama, shocks, explosive confrontations and dark secrets aplenty.

'The Terminal List: Dark Wolf'
"The Terminal List: Dark Wolf" is a new action series that serves as a prequel to the hit original series "The Terminal List," which starred Chris Pratt. Here, we follow Navy SEAL Ben Edwards (Taylor Kitsch) years before that story, as he grows from a disciplined soldier into a covert CIA operative.
As he trains and fights alongside his would-be ally, James Reece (Pratt), this origin story series sees Edwards head on clandestine assignments that test his loyalties. And as he goes deeper into the "gray", it becomes harder for Ben not to give himself over to his darker impulses.
New episodes continue to drop on Wednesdays, with the series finale dropping on September 24, and I'd expected this thriller to stay in the top 10 until that point.

'The Runarounds'
If you're in dire need of a late-summer binge, then teen drama "The Runarounds" could be the series for you. This music drama comes from Jonas Pate (co-creator of Netflix's YA hit, "Outer Banks") and is inspired by the real-life band at the heart of the story.
The series revolves around five high school grads from Wilmington, North Carolina. They form a band the summer after graduation, and commit all their energy to making it big. The cast — including William Lipton, Axel Ellis, Jeremy Yun, Zendé Murdock and Jesse Golliher — are actual musicians portraying fictionalized versions of themselves.
Across eight episodes (all of which are streaming now), viewers follow the band as they work on material, chase their dreams, and navigate all the highs and lows of love and life at such a pivotal time.

Martin is a Streaming Writer at Tom’s Guide, covering all things movies and TV. If it’s in the theaters or available to stream somewhere, he’s probably watched it… especially if it has a dragon in it. Before joining the team, he was a Staff Writer at What To Watch where he wrote about a broad range of shows that stretched from "Doctor Who" and "The Witcher" to "Bridgerton" and "Love Island". When he’s not watching the next must-see movie or show, he’s probably still in front of a screen playing massive RPGs, reading, spending a fortune on TCGs, or watching the NFL.
