Planning a Prime Video movie night this week, but don't know where to start? The Prime Video top 10 list is a good place to start for film recommendations, as it gives you a quick idea of what fellow subscribers to one of the best streaming services have been streaming. However, you can't always guarantee what's trending will actually be worth watching —"Mercy" being the most recent example — and that's where we come in.

Each week, we check what's currently trending in Amazon Prime Video's top 10 movies list to see what's caught viewers' attention and then whittle that list down to three watchlist-worthy picks, so you've always got a ready-made list of streaming recommendations to turn to when you're between movies.

Kicking the list off this week is Alex Garland's nerve-shredding, near-future-set dystopian thriller, "Civil War." If you're looking for an intense watch this week, this is the movie you need to stream.

Released in 2024, this dystopian watch invites viewers along for the ride with war photographer Lee Smith (Kirsten Dunst), her colleague Joel (Wagner Moura), NYT journalist Sammy (Stephen McKinley Henderson), and aspiring journalist Jessie Collin (Cailee Spaeny) across a fractured USA. They're en route to Washington D.C., where they plan to interview the third-term President (Nick Offerman) before secessionist forces take the capital.

Prime Video subscribers are continuing to enjoy Bart Layton's 2026 crime thriller; "Crime 101" arrived on the platform on April 1, but it's still sitting at the top of the streamer's charts as of our check-in today.

Adapted from Don Winslow's acclaimed novella of the same name, the movie stars Chris Hemsworth as a master jewel thief who's managed to evade police while pulling off a string of successful heists up and down the 101 freeway.

While on the cusp of one last score, he crosses paths with a disillusioned insurance broker (Halle Berry) and the relentless detective (Mark Ruffalo) who is determined to put him behind bars. In addition to those stars, the film also features Barry Keoghan, Monica Barbaro, Corey Hawkins, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Nick Nolte.

As Tom's Guide's horror movie avoider, it's probably a real surprise to see me shouting about "Weapons," but when I forced myself to stream Zach Cregger's latest horror effort over on our recently-launched TikTok channel right before the Oscars, I was surprised by just how much fun this wild (and surprisingly funny) movie really was.

If you're yet to check out this Oscar-winning horror/thriller, it takes us to a Pennsylvanian town wherein all but one child from Justine Gandy's (Julia Garner) third-grade classroom mysteriously disappeared from their bedrooms at the same time in the middle of the night. The movie tells several interlocking stories from across that community, all affected one way or another by the strange goings-on around town.
